Confused about the Mac Desktop version

I have downloaded Faithlife on my iPad and it works fine (except for the fact that it doesn't work at all if I am on an airplane or otherwise disconnected from WiFi!) I open it and there is a bible and cross references. I downloaded the Logos software from Faithlife for my Mac yesterday and when I opened it, it downloaded all my resources, but there is no Bible! All I can find are the notes on the scriptures when I click on Faithlife Study Bible. However, I cannot open the full text itself.
I am confused about what this software is supposed to be. It doesn't allow me to choose a default bible... and it is less useful than my iPad.

Welcome!
Faithlife on the iPad gives you some free resources, but you must be online in order to use them. The desktop version of Logos does not. You’ll need to either:
a) buy a Bible (https://www.logos.com/products/search?q=&Resource+Type=Bibles&start=&sort=title&pageSize=60)b) buy or a base package (https://www.logos.com/basepackages)c) buy a collection that includes a bible (e.g., https://www.logos.com/product/8582/john-macarthur-essential-bible-study-library)Hope this helps.0 -

The heart of the company and the product lines is the desktop app for PC and Mac. What is it? At its core, L5 is a digital research library. It isn't really designed to have one book or 10... But to have hundreds or thousands of books. You can search a single book, but most importantly you can search your entire library. Books that you never knew you had become available to you because of these searches.
There are various mobile apps (including Faithlife). Each has its own unique niche... But the digital library is still the heart. Buying a library isn't cheap... But it's a good value.
There are resources you can pick up for free, but the desktop app will remain a glorified reader (with some useful added features) until you purchase a base package and/or minimal cross grades and data sets.

Personally, I recommend the Logos Bible! App over Faithlife. It isn't true that "it doesn't work at all" without wifi, but many features are dependent upon the Logos servers (which obviously would require an internet connection). I have about 200 of my 5,000 resources downloaded to my app. I am able to read, highlight and take notes with or without an internet connection.

Jefferis,
notwhithstanding the good information you already received, I wonder if there was some glitch in the background (not everything downloaded/indexed?), because the Faithlife Study Bible package you mentioned usually comes with the free LEB translation. You may want to check https://www.logos.com/product/6162/lexham-english-bible - you should own this procuct (buy button should be grey), otherwise you can "buy" it for free.
