I know Dal is going to think this title has to do with moody titles (joking brother). But on a more serious note, I noticed while cleaning up my wishlist that the classic commentaries and studies on Ezra, nehemiah etc UPGRADE - the newer package, is no longer available. It just vanished off the website?
OK, Matthew, read the post more carefully. See the word "UPGRADE?" [:$]
I did the same thing
Sorry about that. If I remember correctly, the "upgrade" collection was the same as the original collection, except that it contained 1 more volume. This was created at a time before we had Dynamic Pricing, and we had to create 2 different collections to prevent customers was paying for that 1 volume twice (if they wanted the other 17 but already had that same volume, for instance). Now that we have Dynamic Pricing, we have no need for 2 collections with 95% overlap, so (I think) we retired the smaller one and gave the bigger one Dynamic Pricing.
There has not yet been released a Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther upgrade that has completely new books.
... YET...

While we have the attention of a Logos representative, can you please state what "Upgrade" generally means? I have shied away from upgrade offers when I don't have the original bundle. In many product lines an upgrade doesn't do you any particular good unless you have the original product. However, in Logos' terminology does the upgrade product always or usually contain the original?! How should we look at these offers.
Also, what threshold does Logos use to distinguish between an upgrade and just shipping out a new revision.
Disambiguation:There are diffrences between software upgrades, bundle upgrades and so forth. In this particular instance, that is to say when speaking of collections of books like the classic commentaries and studies on" series an upgrade generally means an entirely new set of books. The same is true of the other series - in general - if you were to purchase the (commentary series name here) upgrade package, in general its works that either supersede older titles (and you still keep the older titles as well) or titles that are new works on unwritten about subjects as part of the series. For instance if a series originally lacked a commentary on Jonah, and a new commentary in the same series had been written on the book of amos, in certain situations where licensing requires it, they would release the package as a two volume upgrade.Software upgrades are a whole different story.IF you have L4 Scholars for instance, and decide to upgrade to L5 - you can do so for free with the L5 engine upgrade. The different packages that are offered as part of the L5 upgrade mailings that have been going around are a little different. You get the free L5 engine, but you also get new resources in addition to the resources that you already have (you won't lose those licenses). On top of that Logos spends years developing new datasets, and so forth that are not free (as they represent hundreds and hundreds of man hours which have a very real cost). The new datasets require certain resources, and certain resources add to the datasets. I purchased a title the other day that included some more information for the timeline for instance. Each level of upgraded base package includes more datasets than the last. If you just want the datasets and don't want to buy expensive packages you can purchase the minimal cross grade. This is the cheapest way to have all the new L5 features. However as I said, more resources means Logos can do more cool stuff with the datasets. As you can see I am pretty heavily invested in base packages. I now have 6303 resources
Exactly
In both cases, "upgrade" means you buy new books (or datasets) in the same field/subject/etc. Also in both cases, you don't need previous versions to purchase the new version. (Although if you're a new customer, you aren't really "upgrading" when buying a base package from scratch... although your Bible studies may be seeing a significant upgrade [;)] )
For example, you can purchase the New Beacon Bible Commentary Upgrade (2 vols.) without purchasing the New Beacon Bible Commentary (19 vols.). All this means is that you'll be owning only the volumes on 1 & 2 Chronicles and Hosea-Micah. We use the "upgrade" terminology to inform customers that these aren't the only 2 volumes on the store--otherwise, a customer might see this 2-volume collection and end their shopping thinking that we only sell 2 volumes from the entire series. Eventually, though, we retire upgrades and move the upgrade volumes all into one collection. Some day (sooner rather than later I hope), we'll see all of the NBBC commentaries in one collection and there won't be an upgrade. But whenever we acquire rights to sell new books in the series, we put those books on Pre-Pub as an "upgrade", a distinct product that continues an existing series on our store.
The same is true for Classic Commentaries on X book of the Bible. "Upgrade" only means that there was a collection on the same topic that came before it. You can purchase one without the other, but we just want you to know that the other exists, in case you're looking for specific volumes or authors in that category.
Could we get a few more of the Classic Commentary sets broken up?
Some of them were done in quick succession but I think the last ones to be broken up were way back in February.
