Usability issue: Bible Facts

I was deliberately starting with several chapters to test a problem reported elsewhere. I took 2 Kings 1-4 and selected "a man" because I was curious as to why it was not more specific. ... But without a search and with compacted references ... how am I supposed to find the relevant entry?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Hi MJ.

You know you can expand the references - and they are in canonical order.

I agree a search would be helpful but it didn't seem to take long to find the relevant passages.

    Am I missing your point?

    MJ,

I believe that you are aware that there is another report "Explorer" that might be more useful ... something like Biblical People, Biblical Places & Biblical Things in Logos 4 that I really missed. Somehow in BibleFacts Logos combines People, Places, Things & Events together ... and Logos arbitrarily decided for us what to filter away [:(]

I thought it will be nice if Logos allows user to lookup only People in BibleFacts if that is what we wanted to do.

Yes and the expansion takes time; Yes, the are in canonical order but each sub-list must be checked separately which takes time.

it didn't seem to take long to find the relevant passages.

We may differ on our definition of "long" ... I simply went to the Bible text itself as faster to search than the Bible Facts list which does not speak well of the tool.

Quite true ... but when one is following rabbit trails one doesn't select the tool ... one responds to what the tool shows you. I would not have considered looking up "a man" were if not for the fact that the Bible Facts tools offered me the option. That caused me to wonder when Logos would have tagged such a generic tag in a history passage. That caused me to open "a man" which led to my wondering why I was led to an unmarked needle in a haystack without a magnet.
