Logos always freezes on my Mac

I have Logos 4 on a Mac. I have had logos for about two years (since the computer was new and I had to switch from PC Study bible) and I absolutely hate it. Logos constantly gets the spinning beach ball ( freezes up) and often shuts down and I have to restart the program. The program is nearly worthless because of this. Any suggestions on how to make the program usable? BTW everything is up to date.

Sorry you are having difficulty, but your problem is by no means the norm. Please enable logging and post the logs in this thread. No one can provide meaningful advice without seeing the logs. See the Mac logging link in my signature. The logging utility featured there will do the heavy lifting of enabling and archiving logs for you.

And just to double-check. Are you still running Logos 4 or have you upgraded to Logos 5?

Logos 5 introduced some new features and a lot of bug fixes and - particularly on the Mac platform - made things a lot better.

If you are running Logos 4 I recommend you upgrade using the free core engine upgrade available at https://www.logos.com/install

Somehow I overlooked this opening sentence [:$] Graham is correct; you need to upgrade to Logos 5. The frequent freezes of Logos 4 were practically eliminated with Logos 5. Download the free engine here LogosMac.dmg. You will probably encounter some resource updates and indexing, but when that is over, you should still have all your resources and a much more stable Logos.

I agree completely with Jack. For the Mac, Logos 5 is a massive improvement over Logos 4. It is faster, more stable, has more facilities and a better interface than Logos 4. All your resources which run on L4Mac will run in Logos 5. The free engine is free. Understand, however, that the full functionality of Logos 5 will not be available without the datasets for some of the tolls and functions. However, the basic engine is still a great improvement on Logos 4.

BTW the reason that Jack may have missed your mention of your L4 may have been that you posted in the Logos 5 forum. [;)]

Thanks for the attempt to give me an excuse, but the real reason is that Jack did not take sufficient time to correctly understand the situation. Figured that the first lines of the logs would provide necessary information as to OS and Logos versions.
