upper brackets in Greek NT

In the SBL Greek NT of Eph 1:1 there are upper square brackets around Χριστόu Ἰησοῦ.

It seems the square brackets come from Logos Symbol Unicode, a font that I sometimes have installed and sometimes not.

If the font is not installed then Logos5 shows nothing, or square boxes.

When imported into Word2010 these brackets can appear or not, depending on the weather.

I normally use SBL BibLit for both Hebrew and Greek. Sometimes these fonts render the upper square brackets and sometimes they don't.

Please correct me, here, but why not use the unicode characters within SBL BibLit to render the upper square fonts?

I'm not able to reproduce this problem. What is your default resource font?

The correct code points for these characters are U+2E02 and U+2E03 (not U+231C and U+231D).

I don't know why the resource needs to be hard-coded to use LogosSymbolUnicode (since there are many fonts that support these characters), but it shouldn't hurt anything to do so. If the font is installed (which it is by default), we can use it; otherwise, we can fall back to another font.

Hard-coding to use SBL BibLit probably isn't a good idea because very few users have it installed.
