Best practices for backing up Personal Books?

Hi Everyone,

I will be giving my computer a full disk format by the end of the year, and I'd like to know what I need to do in order to back up my personal books and all the meta data associated with them?

Obviously, I want to be able to re install Logos on a fresh install, and then with a few procedures be able to rebuild my personal books library in minimal time.

1. the personal book metadata in Library is sync'd, together with all the contents of Tools >> Personal Books.

2. backup the Resources folder to save all your resources (Logos, PB, eBook/Vyrso, datasets, etc.)

3. backup your docx files for PB's

A "quick" method using the resource backup will allow the installation of Logos without a download (the wiki contains a link for Mac OS).

Restore your docx files from backup, but you don't have to recompile any PB's as they will be recovered by the "quick" installation.

3. backup your docx files for PB's

My personal preference for storing the docx and the jpeg book covers is to create a folder per personal book in a PBB folder in Dropbox. That way I have all those books ready to go on whatever computer I'm on and can easily [re-]compile if I need to.

Agree with backup in Dropbox (or Microsoft's OneDrive - 15GB or 1TB if you subscribe to their Office Suite), but I would not make a folder per book - this way to compile a PB you would have to specify the subfolder for each one - extra work for no real benefit. What I do - create a PB folder in Dropbox and put all .docx and .jpg files in this one big folder. If you name the .docx and .jpg files exactly the same it would make it easier to locate book covers.
