Logos 4 Mac on OS X 10.4 (Tiger), Anybody?
I know that Cameron Watters has posted in the Mac Alpha FAQ that
Logos 4 Mac requires Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or 10.6 (Snow Leopard) running on an Intel processor.
Installing Logos 4 Mac on machine running Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or older ... will likely result in a bouncing dock icon and little or no additional feedback.

I'm running 10.4.11 on my MacBook 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB 667Mhz. I have no intention, for the time being, of upgrading my OS to Leopard or Snow Leopard. I'm wondering if I can still get by if I installed Logos 4 Mac, even if I have to make do and live with some shortfalls, or whether it totally can't make it.
Has anyone actually installed Logos 4 Mac on OS X 10.4 (Tiger)? If you have, can you please share some details?

No, as you already read from Logos, L4mac is not compatible with 10.4 so no one has or can install it. I upgraded 2 or 3 months ago to Snow Leopard just for Logos and I will tell you, the OSX is a huge improvement on your Mac so I highly recommend the upgrade to your Mac regardless of L4.Theophilus said:Has anyone actually installed Logos 4 Mac on OS X 10.4 (Tiger)? Thanks, Joe. Was hoping that L4 would not be totally incompatible with 10.4, just limited, perhaps, in functionality. So I guess that's out. [:(]
Hmmm ... Upgrading both my Mac OS as well as my Logos at one go will be rather taxing (pun intended) on the wallet. And just to run L4. Will really have to consider this carefully.

I've clarified the FAQ to state, unequivocally, that Logos 4 Mac will not work on Mac OS X versions earlier than 10.5 and/or PowerPC hardware.
The comment about a bouncing icon was simply intended as a description of what the user will experience if they try to run it despite the fact that it is explicitly unsupported.

This is what I saw at the Apple website:
So I thought the $29 upgrade was only for Leopard to Snow Leopard. Then I
thought I had to upgrade from Tiger to Leopard, then from Leopard to
Snow. Ouch. But if you're telling me that this upgrade allows me to leapfrog
from 10.4 to 10.6, then I'd really consider this much more favourably.Thanks for the tip.

The upgrade disk is a complete copy and does not require that you have earlier versions installed or Discs on hand. Apple works these things on the honor system.
