Logos is a great product, but right-clicking a place name and choosing a place name does not take us to the most relevant map.
For example, I right-click on Mount Sinai in Exodus 19:20 (ESV), and choose Place | Bible Facts. It opens a map titled "Kingdoms of Saul, David, and Solomon" where the word Sinai does appear at the bottom. Wouldn't the "Route of the Exodus" map be better? That map even shows several possible alternatives for Mt Sinai.
This is not just an isolated example. There are numerous others in this thread, including an example where Dan (place of the northern golden calf) points not only to a map from a previous era but actually to the wrong place. That example of the wrong location isn't alone. Disambiguation of places is of quite low quality in Logos 5.
Would someone from Logos staff care to comment as to whether my expectations here are unreasonable? I do appreciate that it would take a lot of man-hours to go through and re-do these, but when I pay thousands of dollars for this product, I do expect a quality that's better than what seems like just machine-matching names to maps of the wrong era and sometimes the wrong location.
Thanks.
