Immersive mode Update or new feature?

Greetings,

I'm not sure if this is an update to an existing feature, or if it falls into a new feature request in which case I'll add a topic through the uservoice site.  Are there any plans to implement the updated immersive mode that android 4.4+ supports?  It removes the nav buttons & status bar entirely until a user taps the screen, thus allowing for more screen real estate to be used.  The Kindle App is one example of an app that supports this.

The following link explains in more detail:

We did release a version of the app that supported immersive mode, but we removed the feature because we found it wasn't especially useful for our app. Immersive mode is good for apps that stay on a single content screen, but our app frequently requires use of the back button for switching between resources, and immersive mode hides the back button and required an extra tap every time you wanted to go back.

We do dim the status and navigation bar while reading, to minimize distraction, but hiding the navigation bar made the app fairly difficult to use as a study tool (as opposed to reading a book from start to finish).

Thanks for the insight on the thought process behind the functionality.  I guess my usage differs from most, in that I would find it useful.  No biggie though [:)]
