Downloaded the free videos https://www.logos.com/product/42738/logos-5-quickstart but when I pull up the videos from the library I get this message.
I am using 5.3 Beta 1.
It works on another computer running 5.2b SR2

Maybe you should edit the title to include "BUG L5.3 Beta 1" & have this thread moved to the Desktop Beta forum, as your two posts seem to indicate this is a problem in the new beta only and Logos needs to become aware of this.
Logs?
Working for me on the 5.3 beta.
0121.Logos.log
5824.LogosError.log
Working on both of my Logos machines.
Windows 7 64 Ultimate on Desktop.
Windows 7 32 Professional on Netbook
Hid the resource unhid it.
Restarted. Tried to open the resource told to update it via the button.
Now it does not show up in the library and when selecting the link on the home page, the button for me to update the resurce is grayed out.
Is my machine posessed? [:D]
Ran the scan resource command, it redownloaded the resource. Same error.
Faithlife Study Bible Videos refuse to play also. Getting the same error message.

I added the software to the firewall and gave it permission. No change. I can open the link as it prompts for Windows Media player, and the video shows just fine. Any other suggestion would be more than welcome.
Looks like the server bug has hit again, preventing some users from contacting Logos computers.
This is definitely not the case, because these videos are hosted at Amazon CloudFront.
This looks like a problem accessing the url, but is there any way this could indicate that it's unable to save the file to webcache? Seems unlikely; I would expect more errors.
I am also unable to watch the videos. I don't get the error message as shown in the screenshot of the original poster, just blank with nothing happening.

Same here (Mac). I cannot watch the Mobile Ed videos too.
I was wondering if I was alone in this. Thanks for chipping in.
I'm having a slightly different problem on my PC - When I select a lesson in the Morris Proctor Video, the screen image is visible. When I click on play, the video isn't visible though it is playing and I can hear the audio. If I go to full screen, I can see the video, though it is not very clear. Never an error message. (5.3 Beta 1 (5.3.0.1128), HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC; Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) SP1; I7-2670QM; 8GB of memory.)

Looking through your logs it looks like you may have a really slow connection to the videos (our default timeout gives the file 10 seconds to come back with a response before we give up.)
I've seen this behavior while testing using Fiddler because it "eats" the entire web request and then spits it out on the other end. Depending on the size of the video this can take much longer than 10 seconds...
I've also seen this behavior when working over a VPN connection but that isn't nearly as common as a web traffic monitor.
I'm curious how long the video takes to start playing when you run it from the URL Randy recommended.
If it really is just due to a slow connection you may have better luck downloading the videos before playing them. To do that click on the Panel menu and choose "Download all media".
Thanks Ryan. No problem using the video on my other computer. Connection approx. 15Mb. Will try download.
Video took about 6 seconds. Told it to use media player to play the video.
The other computer is using the stable version.
Hmm. I thought I was able to reproduce the issue but then I noticed that Fiddler was running and slowing down my connection. The failure appears to be completely with the internet side of things (not able to get a video in a reasonable time).
If you open a preview panel for a resource you don't own it should show you a preview and some information about the resource. Does that come up quickly? (click a preview link in a bookstore result in a passage guide)
Could you try the following:
Opens instantly.
Try to download all the media (using the panel menu)
No progress bar to indicate progress.
Yeah, unfortunately there is not great (or even mediocre) feedback for this process. The current way to figure out when it's complete is to look at the panel menu (it should change while the download is in progress)... in your case that may not be sufficient because your media items don't seem to be downloading at all.
I know we have plans for a better UI for this but I'm not sure when they'll come about.
We've had this happen for a couple of our users. To my knowledge it's always been solved by updating video card drivers.
Ryan,
Morris Proctor video or Mobile Education videos do not work on Macbook Pro
Beta 5.3 beta 1, OS 10.10
This is a known issue that we're still investigating; we don't have a fix yet, sorry.
Thanks Bradley.
