Daily readings - jump to first unread

I'm not sure whether I'm missing something.

I'm finding Logos helpful for daily devotional readings - at the moment I happen to be using Connect the Testaments, but I don't think that's important to my question. I mostly use an Android tablet for this, but sometimes the Windows software.

Logos normally goes to today's readings. This is great if you're the disciplined sort who is never behind. I'm not.

I can jump to any date of course, but that means remembering how many days I am behind.

What I want is to jump to the first unread day, and have Logos track which day that is. Is there anything in devotionals that would give me this feature?

There is nothing elegant. You can, of course, open the actual reading plan itself and click on the next "unread" reading.

EDIT: I just realized that you are talking about a calendar devotional (which opens automatically to TODAY's date). What you need to do is to create a reading plan. See here: https://wiki.logos.com/Reading_Plan_$28Basics$29

It wasn't too hard to set up a plan, though there were some oddities. I can't start in the middle as far as I can see, so I set it up from the beginning of the year. That left me reading the title page on 1 January and dedication on 2 January, so I started it again from 30 December.

Then I had two days when I was doing two readings, putting everything afterwards out of step (reading 2 September on 1 September and so on). After a bit of head scratching, I realised that that was not faulty mark-up in the book, but the system trying to fit 365 readings plus a title page and a dedication into 365 days, so I spread it over 367 days instead and all was well.

Which seems a bit complicated. Are there standard options to ignore introductory material? Presumably I could do a complete custom plan from scratch, avoiding selecting those sections, but that's over-kill. With a devotional, it's pretty obvious that the normal intention will be either to read today's reading every day, or to start with 1 January on whatever today may be and continue for a year. I've never heard of anyone setting out to read a devotional (or the Bible in a year, or any other plan) and spending a day or two on the stuff about how the translators went about their very important work and what the reference conventions are [:D]

yes, it can be a bit complicated
logos needs to give a serious boost to reading plan creation to allow users to manipulate plans
you can adjust plans if you don't want to start on a certain day... Right click and choose "adjust plan from here"
