I've been away on holiday for the last two weeks. When I prepared my sermon before my holiday, Logos was working like a dream – it just worked!

I came back home and opened up my usual sermon preparation layout and, after the new update automatically installed, have found a dramatic deterioration in performance.

The program is running very slowly. Spinning pizza is the order of the day. This is happening when

the program is synchronising (Are there known sync issues in this update?)
when I try to scroll through a resource (Are there known scrolling/linking issues in this update?)
when I working with clippings (Are there known issues with clippings in this update?)

or am I the only guy to whom this is happening?

To rub salt in the wound the program actually crashed! Crashed and burned, as I inserted a clipping!! It wasn't pretty! I haven't had issues like this since Logos 4 days!

I am using the current stable version of Verbum and have personally noticed no slow downs in the past week or two. But there have been a couple of service releases in the past month, and the latest may have been an issue for you. If you are on the beta track I have heard of some nasty issues with 5.3 beta, although I thought those were mostly in the Windows version (i have not been following it overly close). Alabama is right though, if you submit the logs the problem might pop up. But as usual I will ask if you have run disk utility to make sure your not having any permission errors/disk related problems.

I have heard of some nasty issues with 5.3 beta

I am beta testing, but haven't been very active in the "testing" part. I know of issues related to personal book sync for those who experimented in a previous version...

Hi Alan:

No issues here on my iMac running 5.2b SR2. Logos seems to be running as it always has. Perhaps you've encountered some kind of a hardware problem or maybe Logos has decided to index? You're not by chance using the public beta of Yosemite? I've avoided going that route since I only have this Mac to do sermon prep.

I would say the same thing, no issues on my 2008 macbook pro 15inch pre-Unibody. Its running actually really fast for me on a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo and 4GB of RAM. Alan, it could be some other issue. I could imagine how fast it would run if I had a 2014 Mac with all new goodies... By the way I am using Snow Leopard still. Was your machine indexing? That can slow down things. Has this resolved for you?
