MAC Wish - reliable service menu scripture paste

I really wish that the copy Bible verses worked on the Mac like it should. The service keyboard command (command + J) is so temperamental it is really worthless. The best so far is the "replace with passage" but that is only good if you want to ESV, and it loses formatting. Now I want ESV 70% of the time but the work involved should be way more simple.

Am I the only one that thinks that this feature is a real vital part of one's workflow?

Online Bible new makes it work and their coding resources are so limited - Accordance has automator scripts done by one in the community that does amazing things and super reliable - I am just wondering.

Please know that my heart is just asking the question. I know I can use the other applications for this - it is just a inquiry.

Agree. This is frustrating. Please address this.

    Paul,

Well I think ONLY if people respond. Accordance just came out with version 11 and they have a reliable paste method that is now coming directly from them. In fact they listed and really did a great job. I have read through this blog and seen that people have been asking for over a year. With a $3500 investment in Diamond and the amount of people needing it that Logo would do "SOMETHING". To my posts on this topic - not one "LOGOS" team member has responded. It is not an Apple issue or others would not be able to get it to work.

All I am saying is that If you say you offer something, then please offer it to work.

I was an Accordance user and I'll say I really liked the copy scripts that were made for it—but to be fair to Logos, Accordance didn't make those, a third party did (as you pointed out). Without those scripts, Accordance's copy and paste wasn't any better.

I've had to adapt and work out a new workflow with Logos. Here's what I do.

First, my main copying is from the KJV, so I just use the the "replace with passage" service for that (it uses your highest prioritized Bible).

Then, to copy Greek, Hebrew, or a different format, I use the Logos command bar. For example, to do Greek, the command is "Copy Heb 5:1-10 from 1881 [or the abbreviation of whatever Greek Bible or other Bible you want]" and the menu drops down showing the full command:

To copy in a different format (as defined in the Copy Bible Verses tool), the command is "copy Heb 5:1-10 using style normal"

You can type commands in manually, but I've used text expansion tools like Textexpander and now, Launchbar, to make the typing faster. [EDIT: they type out the whole command (except the reference) then all I need to do is type the reference.]

I know this probably isn't what you're looking for, but you did wonder about the workflows of others, so I shared. In answer to your question—I guess I've adapted and am happy with the copying and pasting in Logos.
