- How would You compare Hermeneia, Eerdmans Critical Commentary, New Interpreter's Bible, Old Testament Library and would there be some series I've neglected? I would prefer to invest in a series that will have at least Sirach (Ecclesiacticus). Hoping there will be a replacement AYBC 1 Mc volume some day (haven't bought that volume due to its age), not sure any other set will deal with 1 Mc in a historical-critical way,
- Some but perhaps not an overwhelming amount of DSS and Septuagint textual criticism compared to the 1977 BHS,
- If there are recent volumes, the impact of archaological and linguistic discoveries verse-by-verse,
- If it is or will be available in Accordance it would definately be a plus,
- Authors not limited to Evangelical or Reformed scholars.
- It's OK if it doesn't have Gn-Nm since I have a Reform Judaism volume on that in Accordance, and a print volume on Gn,
-Doesn't need to have outstanding introductions on every book, would accept OK introductions on some books and that are just up-to-date on scholarship such as the dating of Gn-Nm compared to the dating of the Deuteronomistic work and between a dozen to two dozen pages long - OK if verbose.
- Would be great if the set has a good treatment of Jer,
- Underlying (oral) traditions?
Do You know anything about how the Eerdmans Critical Commentary and Old Testament Library/New Testament Library sets will develop?
