Migrating older resources

I have been with Logos since the v.1
days. Over the years I have collected a significant number of
resources. I've had complete success moving my resources from version
to version. With version 4 I installed on my desktop computer over
version 3. All of my resources were recognized. However, I have now
made a fresh install of L4 on my new laptop, downloading all of my
registered resources through the updating service. I am missing some
of the previous resources that did load on the desktop. My question
is: if I transfer my resource files (L3 and before) to my laptop,
will L4 scan and recognize them? Where exactly should they be
transferred to and what command should I use to scan these files?

Problem solved! After copying the L3 resource folder to the laptop L4 resource directory, I restarted. Voila! They're all there. Sorry for the trouble.

If indeed all you did was copy the contents into the directory You're likely to have issues with searching in these particular books because the program didn't "recognize them" the right way.

The proper way to import books is to put them in another directory like C:\books\

and then in the commandbox type:

scan c:\books\

you may want to test some searches to see if this is the case. If it is you can try to enter "Rebuild index" in the commandbox.
