I imported "all" and it all worked fine but then all my notes was checked and visible in every resource. I have to uncheck notefile for notefile in every resource to get rid of it. I realise this will take a lot of time. Then I deleted all imported notes.
I want to import my notes "unchecked". Then I can choose if I want it to be visible in my resources. In v3 if I uncheck a note it "disapears" in every resource. I think thats an better way of working.
Maybe there should be an option to choose if check/uncheck should work in all resources or just in the one checking in but I don't know.

I believe if you right click on the specific visual filter you can tell Logos to not show it in any resource.

Added Parallel Resource drop-down menu in resource toolbar
Does this not include things like the EDNT and BDAG? I typically refer to these two and the WSDNT as my go to spots. I would love to be able to use the association to move from one to the other. For now I just have them promoted and showing up in the WbW in the PG.

Is this working as expected? It is very sluggish on my machine and
stops at every letter. There is nothing remotely speedy about it on my
machine. Indexing is completed and I am on Beta two.Bradley Grainger said:Added Bibles-only search index
Perhaps this is related to my second comment, but is this working yet?
I find it faster to do a regular search than a speed search. The
only difference I see is you don't hit enter with the speed search.Bradley Grainger said:Resources support navigating by data type levels, highlighting, and search results

was very helpful. I wanted to make this suggestion. But I never took
the time. My layout has a Word by Word open all the time and this will
greatly improve its effectiveness. One suggestion I have thought about
is that it follow according to the mouse click suggestion, and not the
cursor location? If I click a few verses down in the text, the input
box for the text immediately updates. However, the input for the PG
containing the WbW does not change. I will explain. If I have ESV at
verse 1, then click at verse 7, the input box updates. At this point it
would be nice to have the PG that is linked update as well. If at this
point I select the arrow for next verse, the ESV moves to verse 8 and
the PG updates. If the input box gained focus when I mouse click, I
think I could possibly hit enter and force the PG to adjust. The work
around at this point seems to be to click one verse short of what I
want to move to and then click next verse. Interestingly, there was one
single time that I clicked on a spot a few verses down and the PG
jumped to it. I don't know what circumstances allowed it to happen. But
it did it. Strange...“... every day in which I do not
penetrate more deeply into the knowledge of God’s Word in Holy Scripture
is a lost day for me. I can only move forward with certainty upon the
firm ground of the Word of God.”0 -
There seems to be a bug with searches by "mytag:" When I use one of these the search comes up with no result. I searched my resources on Jesus for "Jesus" and it came up with no result. I tried another collection and searched for "God" with the same result. I rebuilt the index just in case but it has not solved the problem.
Have others experienced this problem in 4.0b b2?

Francis,
I can reproduce this in 4.0b b2 and will report it.
Update: This should be fixed in 4.0b Beta 3.
Thanks,

it did it. Strange...I have continued to work with this and found the following:
Right clicking somewhere in a verse most of the time causes the PG to update.
Moving back from a search window after doing a search causes the PG to update to where you clicked.
Basically anything that takes the focus allows the PG to automatically refresh to whatever you select when you return to the text.
Hitting Tab and Enter will cause the PG to update.
And the winning solution was so simple it is ridiculous. Double clicking on the verse number causes the PG to update. All I can say is duh! I should have tried that first.

It also seems that the more that you use it, the faster it gets. Maybe there is some learned indexing going on?
In spite of my questions, I am glad to see it coming back. Hopefully soon it will be instantaneous.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. If I left-click on the cymbol with three cirkels (forget the name for it) I get a droplist with every applicable option in that resource. It could be to show pagenumbers, notefiles, bible readings, link to open panels... depending on type of resource. When importing my notefiles all of them show up in every bible and commentary. If I uncheck something in the drop down list it disappears only in that resource. I have to repeat this action in every resource and there is lot of them.
Where do you mean I can right click on a specific visual filter? Please explain it to me or post a Screen dump.

What would be cool would be for double clicking a verse to cause the PG to open or move to that verse without using the linking. Linking slows down scrolling through the text considerably.

Another bug I am experiencing is that Logos 4.0b beta 2 stubbornly opens in a window that is way up on my screen (in fact only a [lower] part of the window is visible). I have to use Windows + arrows to change the window size back to something I can use.
I think it started to do that after I floated several windows in a previous session. Now, even when there are no window afloat, the starting window positioning is messed up.

I've had this problem intermittently from 4.0; it was blamed on Windows, whether or not this is accurate, I don't know.

Suspect it is that with Logos 4 such behaviour only seen from among my applications. Know this must the Logos team.

EDNT and BDAG wouldn't work as parallel resources, because they are not addresss by Scripture reference like Bibles and commentaries are. If you're viewing a particular passage in Scripture and you click the Parallel Resources drop-down menu, you see all other resources that have an entry for the particular verse you are on (Bibles and commentaries). So if you're in the NT, for example, it wouldn't show BHS because that is an OT only Bible resource. I don't see how you'd want EDNT and BDAG to link in here. They are for looking up specific words. If you want to see all the places in which either one of them (or other similar resources) mention the verse you're looking at, then Parallel Resources isn't the way to go. That's what Passage Guides are for. Or use the Cited By tool.

Currently......
Parallel Resources should function also for English, Greek and Hebrew headwords. This way, they could be used for Bible Dictionaries and Lexicons.

I've run the update to 4.0b Beta 2 (v4.02.3.5022). All went well. Then came the long awaited imports. I ran "Import All." It crashed. I've attached the log file. I the opened my most favorite bible and my Highlights are all there. So are my favorites. THANK YOU! Blessings to you all!
But here's the problem: Notes Imports. They just won't import. They are the problem. Please note that I'm running Windows 7. I've rebooted. Tried again. Just won't work. Please help.
Thanks

Did you prepare your notes in L3 with the new button download that Bradley pointed us to, before attempting the import? Check out the link provided in his post.

I've not seen this with Logos, but I have had issues with other programs from time to time. IN those instances the cure was to to restore the program (ie neither maximized nor minimized) adjust it to a given location that is obviously floating, and then close it. Twice. Note I've had to do that at least twice, not merely once. Open it again and close it like that again. Reboot and do it again if you think third try might work.
Some sticky bit get's stuck somewhere sometimes in windowed programs. This has almost always cured it for me.
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

I just did "import notes" on my XP running laptop this morning and it worked without some little button download. I didn't even see that note from Bradley. And now all the others have synced and show my old notes, too. Terrific!!

Thanks Richard. I followed Bradley's advice and prepared my notes in L3. After preparing the notes I get the popup saying "All annotations documents were updated successfully." I then opened L4 and did the Import All command. It works a while, but finally L4 crashes. I still don't have the Notes. I've included the log file again since it is done after preparing L3. I hope someone can help. Thanks.

Bruce,
Thanks for posting the log file. We'll get a fix for that in Beta 3.

Bruce, while you wait for the Logos "fix" mentioned by Scoot, you might try this: Just type in Import Notes rather than Import All.
I too, did "Import All" and received "HIghlighting" and "Favorites". BUT I had to do the separate "Note" import to bget Notes etc.
(Mine also crashed that first time, even thought the two sets of files came in properly.)

I think the Passage Guide currently only finds other guides; this is an issue we're working on.

Steve,
I haven't verified all my notes yet, but I tried your advice and did Import Notes and it worked! I now have all my Hghlights, Favorites, and Notes. I haven't verified whether they match L3, but I wanted to say thanks.
Also, thanks Scott for your reply and continued work on a great product.
I just have to praise God!
