I would personally find the Suggestions forum easier to follow if it were separated into two forums.
One forum that dealt specifically with new book/resource suggestions.The other would deal with suggestions for modifications of the software platform and its usability.
An added benefit of this would be that people would be less likely to put "Book Suggestion" in the title of their post and substitute the author and or title name more frequently, making it easier to see what the suggestions are and whether you want to add your "thumbs up" to them.
