without a doubt, the solution you implemented for updating the layouts is better then anything I considered. I don't know if it was suggested here or in the deep, secret recesses of Logos headquarters, but I love it! Thanks for thinkin it through.

It took some trial and error to find what do to (hint: R-click on layout name), but I do like it too.

Same here... a powerful step forward. However, I'd still like to see a prompt to "Save Layout" if we've made changes to the current layout when we exit or when we move to a new layout.
This is more necessary in L4 even than in L3, until we can do something that approximates serial resources--and allow a single layout to have different resources appear, depending on whether we're working in OT or NT. In L4, AFIK, we still need 2 layouts, since a BHS panel doesn't trigger NA27 to replace it when the Scripture reference moves from OT to NT.

I'd still also like to see them add a way to set Logos to open to a specific saved Layout each time, regardless of what I had open when I last closed the program.

Agreed, but it should be screen resolution dependant: When I start logos at my office computer (with dual 1280x1024 monitors) I'd like to see another layout than on my laptop with 1024x768 resolution.

That would be solved if they made Program Settings specific to a given installation instead of synching them. You might want to run with "Use Internet" set to "No" on one computer, for example if you had a slow internet connection from home. You might want Program Scaling different on different computers, depending on your screen resolution. You might not want to play sounds at work if you share an office and it would drive your workmates batty. And so on.

Rosie, I think there's a important difference between the several location specific settings you've mentioned above:
Screen resolution is easy to be determined by software and I think for the logos staff it would be no problem to implement my suggested distinction between screen resolution dependant standard layouts.
On the other hand, if you don't want to disturb your workmates with sounds you can easily turn the speaker off. If you don't want your computer to connect to the internet you can power off you modem...
I've just mentioned my desire and don't want to quarrel about or insist on it. [;)]

Who's quarrelling? I like your suggestion. I was just "embellishing" it.[;)] I often go off on tangents when someone suggests something. I'm saying, in effect, "oh yes, and that makes me think of this other thing which would also be nice..." That's all I was doing. Sorry if it sounded like I was taking issue with your proposal. Not at all my intent. I guess I forgot to say clearly what I meant, namely: "yes!...and...that could also be part of this other feature which might be nice..."
But you are right, my suggestion would have perhaps quite a different implementation than what you're suggesting. I'm not asking for mine either, because I only run one one computer anyway. It was just my ever-wandering mind...
