No! My favorite part of the Logos website is gone!

You used to be able to browse the complete listing of Authors and Publishers. It was an undocumented feature, but you could get there by going directly to their pages on logos.com via their URLs (http://www.logos.com/authors and http://www.logos.com/publishers). I had been harping on Logos for a long time to add navigation to those pages from the home page, but nothing ever happened. Instead, it appears that with the latest new look on the website, you've removed those pages altogether. Bummer! Please bring them back, and provide an easy way to navigate to them.

It was on my list to let the forums know the URLs had changed. You beat me to it. We needed to repurpose the /authors and /publishers URLs for new pages geared for the authors and publishers that we work with.

The list is now sorted by the author's first name!! Who on earth looks for a post-medieval author under his or her first name? How many authors do we even know/remember the first names for? And even if we do know them, should we look under 'William Henry', 'William H', or 'W H'? Or all three?

Not to talk about the fact that some women are listed under 'Mrs'... I find it particularly fascinating that Susanna Grace Mueller is listed as Mrs. George Müller, although the product page knows her real name.

We need consistency between the name at the top of the product page, the content of the product page, the author list, and the L5 metadata! If there are variations, it should be possible to search the website for them all, but the display should be consistent.

Given that the URL's now require even more manual typing, regular links just became an even higher priority. Locked/unlocked links are still higher, though.

It has always been sorted by first name, if I recall correctly. (So does Outlook, for that matter, and it doesn't bother me.) I never look for names by going to the letter of the alphabet where I expect to find them anyway. I use Ctrl+F in my browser.

You wrote that four months ago. How long does it take to hook up a link from these "More" links to /products/authors and /products/publishers?

The current expansion of the Author and Publisher lists by clicking on More is useless. Instead, just make the "More" links go to https://www.logos.com/products/authors and https://www.logos.com/products/publishers respectively and I will stop bugging you about it. It is unconscionable that those pages have been available for so long for people who knew the URL to type in directly but not accessible to people poking around on the website. You don't have to link them into the faceted browsing system in any complex way. Just make direct links to them from the main Products page, and have someone do it this week, and then it will be done!
