Logos 3 Won't Start up or Reinstall

Hi folks, I am running Logos 3.0f and 4. Initially both worked fine but yesterday I tried to run Logos 3. The programme tried to start (the large red icon appeared) but it immediately disappeared and nothing happened.

I tried rebooting - no difference.

Then I tried to repair the installation from the DVD but the installion programme won't run, either automatically or manually.

Then I tried to download 3.0g but the download won't run. It starts and immediately quits.

I don't want to get too aggressive with the registry incase I affect Logos 4. Is there a cleaner for Logos 3?

Anybody any ideas? I have emailed tech support but they are very busy.

Hi Bill,

What computer / operating system are you running? If a PC, have you already tried uninstalling & reinstalling (different from repair)?

Thanks for responding. I am running Windows 7 Professional and have had no real problems with it apart from the odd printer driver. I really like Win 7.

Logos 3 was reinstalled after Win 7 and was working normally for some time. I hadn't opened it for a week or two as I was trying to get to grips with Ver 4.

Currently:

The programme won't run

The DVD autorun will not open.

Version 3.0g will not download from the website either

Something is blocking all of these things and I can't figure out what??

I think I will have to remove the programme piece by piece
but don't know how to remove the reg info without damaging Logos 4.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your email. It was all a bit painful. I did everything you suggested and finally got install to run only to get a 1722 error.

To cut a long story short I finally did what ever I did to the XML Parser and the whole thing reinstalled without any problem. So all is well now thanks to all for your help.

Good. You'll often find help for 3.0 problems by searching the Logos site. It used to be easier to find info before they changed the Support page to 4.0, but there is a lot of useful troubleshooting info there.
