I was just curious; who's planning to go to a Camp Logos in 2010; who would like to attend one, who has been to an L4 camp?
Call me curious...
I'm going to Boston's Camp Logos.
I went to the first one in Murfreesboro, TN . . . an excellent introduction to the new software. Morris Proctor does a good job of grounding you in the "what" and "where" things are and will definitely get you up to speed quickly. I'll probably take some of our other teaching Elders to another one later this year . . . I'd highly recommend the seminar!
Jerry
Philadelphia in May
I bought the L3 Camp Morris DVDs last May (obviously wish I had not now... lol)... They were very well done and an excellent resource....
I will probably wait for those and forgo the actual seminar... The DVDs are great for me because I do not have a very good memory, and I can go back and review them...
I do not know when/if any DVDs may come out for L4, but I'll at least wait untill the end of the year, and If they are not out by then, I may go to a seminar.
With L4 changing all the time (esp. durring the first year) I know that I would want to wait to attend a seminar otherwise, I'd be missing out on some of the very important features that will be a part of the program in the coming months... (which is why I will also wait to buy the manuals)

Dear Curious.....
I registered for the Henderson (North Carolina) L4 Seminar a few days ago and got the ad for it yesterday..heh. It's in February. For me it is only a 90-minute drive whereas at the L3 seminar this past summer it was a 10-hour drive plus an overnight. It's not often this kind of blessing shows up!!

How about those who'd really like to go but cannot? Who's in that situation?
I'd love to go and hopefully, one will be scheduled in south Austin, TX in the future....
well, if we could persuade him to leave the States and come to the UK, I'd be interested..
there is one in Dallas in Feb [:D]
"there is one in Dallas in Feb"
I'm aware of that and I was aware with one in Houston last year, but as I get older I avoid the big cities and the traffic...that's why I also said south Austin....It's getting too much traffic too and I only live about 16 mile of south Austin...Went to a WorldView seminar in south Austin a few months ago...Logos was there and spent money with them....
Strongly considering attending in Henderson, NC in February. What do you honestly think -- considering I run L4 exclusively on an Asus EEE netbook with a memory upgrade to 2G, would attending benefit me? Or would I just be spinning my wheels, limited in utilizing L4's capabilities due to my low-powered machine?

So, I would vote for a "webinar" approach for those of us cannot physically make it to the live sessions. The dvd series may not be out this year since it seems like Logos 4 will be adding new content throughout the year. Morris, any ideas???
Probably Seattle in March
It sounds like I have Logos 4 on the same computer including the upgrade, I also have Logos 4 on two other laptops that are more powerful.
I have not had any problems running Logos 4 on my Asus, although it runs slower, but I see no reason that would stop you from learning at the seminar.
One other point I would like to make I have already bought the two Logos 4 manuals, I was going to wait like some of you have suggested and they showed up in the mail. I have such a sweet wife! Any way these resources have been really great and have helped me out more than any other source. I was also told by the company that updates would be sent to me through email, if there were major changes.
This may not be true for all of you, but for me these manuals have made the difference of giving up on Logos 4 and going back to Libronix 3 and being able to actaully use and enjoy Logos 4 now!
If I am having a problem I can look in the index of the manual and go directly to the information, no more sitting for hours trying to find the information on the forum. I bought this program to study the bible with, not spend all my time looking for answers on the forums on how to use the program. These manuals have been a huge help to me.
In Christ,
Jim
Thanks, Jim. Guess I'll rustle up some $$ and register for the seminar.
If they'd do one in Vancouver, BC, I'd go. Actually, I suppose I could do the Bellingham one. I'd never considered going before -- I'd always kind of pooh-pooed the idea of having to go to a "training camp" to use software that should be more intuitive and/or have better documentation. But this time I might do it. If nothing else to see Bob and company and get to know some of the others in the Logos community, which I finally feel a part of.
Just came back from one yesterday (SF area). It was very well done and most helpful. Logos benefited as well as I jumped to Scholar Plat. His L4 textbooks are good too. Go if you can - well worth it. Our group had about 35 in it. Cheers.
Will most likely be there if I can get away.
Jim, thanks for the information on the manuals. I purchased a tutorial DVD and it's good, but I know it's not getting down to the detail that I desire. I'm certainly going to order the manuals now.
I plan to attend the seminar in Philadelphia but I'd love to attend one before May; however, travel to another location is not in the budget at this time.
Ditto for the webinar! Please consider it, Morris.
...Hope the following helps. I received it very recently from Mr. Proctor:
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the encouragingwords and your support.
We will be filming shortlyafter the first of the year. My goal is to release them within the firstquarter of 2010.
Thanks,
Morris
MJ, I should be at the Seattle MP Seminar in March as well. Let try and meet-up.
Let try and meet-up.
Definately.
I'm hoping to go to the Cincinnati seminar in April, but I'll have to rearrange my work schedule. (I'm working midnights that week and wouldn't be too alert for a seminar after being up all night.) If my boss cooperates, hopefully I'll be able to make it. (Or should I spend the $$$ on resources... hhmmm?)
I hope to attend Morris’ seminary in 2011, once L4 is well underway, or I will attend Jerusalem University in 2011. If the economy still is faltering in 2011 it will be the seminar.
I would love to attend one of these sessions as well, but am unable to attend the ones in the US.
Are there enough Canadians that would be able to get together in one place so that we could get Morris to come up to Canada for some personal training?
i do have a manual coming, but would also appreciate a webinar for training.
it would be nice to make contact with some of the other Canadian users.
It would be fun to have a forums lunch or something during these? Do they provide a meal on site usually or do you go get your own? It would be fun get together with all the people I've been interacting with here, if they go to the one I'm going to in Hendersonville, NC next month.
I am registered for the OKC seminar the end of January. My father (former missionary/current minister) is planning on going with me. That will be fun. [<:o)]
I thought the Camp Logos Alaskan Cruise looked very nice but my wife did not want to walk around the ship alone while I sat in the seminar. She still wants her trip to Ireland. [ap]
I think we would all benefit if someone 'live' blogged one of his seminars. [;)]
I've just registered for Seattle too. Will make the trek down from Vancouver, BC, and stay with some friends. I look forward to meeting you two.
Great - I should be easy to spot ... I'll be the one who can't believe morning starts before 10.[|-)]

You mean you'll be the other one who can't believe morning starts before 10. I can't either! Nighttime hasn't even finished for me yet and it's 4am!

I'd be willing. I would also Ustream it if it was allowed. But I would bet he would not really want that. Cut into his business. He needs to eat too.
I'd like to attend one this year, but It's gotta be close enough to me or extended family. There's one in May in Marrietta GA that I'd love to attend (sister there) but it interferes with the school schedule. So I'll just watch and wait for new dates and times to open up.
I wish I could go, but here in Canada (central Ontario), Morris doesn't visit. [:(] (Plus I doubt I could afford to go.)
I hope the Logos 4 Camp Logos videos will be out. Hopefully I can save up for these.

The closest he has gotten to me was either Buffalo (almost 4 hours) or Detroit (closer, almost 2). Plus the border crossing challenges. I assume those border "issues" play a HUGH part in Morris not "crossing over"?
So far, it is only manuals or DVD's for me.
Steve
Went this weekend. It was great. Learned a ton and really became sold on 4. Well worth the time and cost!

the one I'm going to in Hendersonville, NC

I believe that seminar is taking place in Henderson, not Hendersonville. That is 2 hours east of me. Mapquest says that is 3 hours from Valdese (That is where you said you were located, I believe)
I have not completely decided yet, but I am strongly considering the trip.
I have been to a couple of Morris' seminars in the past and really benefited from them. For me, there was such a variance of ability between us all, that I always wished the seminar could last longer because I was just catching on to certain things when the weekend was over![:S]
Everyone was always very helpful and you could find out great information during breaks and lunch, as well.
Interesting note, the ratio of men to women was about 40-1 both times. Curious to know if that factor has changed through the years?
Sharon
We would love to bring Camp Logos to the Toronto/Ontario area but we need a host location.
Please let me know if anyone is interested in hosting the event in 2010.

I am too far out of the way to be of help but this is GREAT news!
Thanks

Yeah, that makes a big difference. Not sure I want to drive 3 hours each day. Would have to get a hotel room I guess to go.
We would love to bring Camp Logos to ...
How do you decide where to go? By invitation? Or do you select the location and then look for a host?
I am also registered for the Seattle (actually Redmond) Seminar too.
There's one scheduled for Bellingham in June, but I just couldn't wait that long. See you guys there.
Maybe we should all sit together. That way we won't destroy any confidence other people have in us, when they see how much we need to learn. [;)]
I'll find Joe, because he'll be sucking on a bong - er coffee cup; Rosie will be pointing a camera at everyone and MJ will be stooped over and carrying a sack of some kind. I, on the other hand, will be in disguise: wearing glasses, a mustache and a disarming grin. (Did I miss anyone going to the Seattle seminar?)

A sack of books to give to the poor - books replaced by Logos e-books, of course.
Yeah, that makes a big difference. Not sure I want to drive 3 hours each day
I change my mind at least three times a day, and my drive is an hour less! I guess I will have to decide soon.

Are you going to Henderson or somewhere else.
Henderson is the closest MP is coming to me. It's not a bad ride, Interstate all the way. I'm pretty sure I will go and commute.
