What i do not like about Logos 4

1) The Home page Newspaper style. I would like a feature where the Home Page
can be customised to look like the current Logos 3 Home Page. I like
the layout/outline of the Logos 3 Home Page & those who like the Newspaper style
Home page can have that also. I don't think Logos 4 should be geared towards high power
users only. I think a novice should be able to use Logos 4 straight up. A
customised feature of the Home Page should please everyone i
hope?

2) I
don't like the way the English-Hebrew/ English-Greek Reverse interlinear(ESV)
functions in Logos 4. Do a "Study word" and the English Reverse is missing and now
replaced by "Textual Searches". Why can't we have both? I would like the English
Reverse Interlinear (ESV) to function and operate as a separate resource in
Logos 4. When i search my Library, the ESV English Reverse interlinear is missing. Please bring it back in Logos 4! Perhaps this was left out based on feed back
from power users but the novice are also users. I hope we have not lost this forever!

3) I
like the slick look of the current Logos Mac and i would not mind paying $100
Bob for that look. Those who like the blue look on Logos 4 fine but the
aesthetics on Logos Mac does it for me. I hope with the world crying out for the
Mac and going crazy on the Mac, that we Windows users are not short changed on
aesthetics. This is something that can easily be done when there is a new kid on the block and Logos having a lot to prove on the Mac front.

So far
what i have seen in Logos 4 looks very promising. I hope we do not loose any
feature or less feature from Logos 3.
Thanks

Ted

I totally agree on the need for the Reverse Interlinears as a seperate resource.  This is very useful to me.

I would give them time to show what they mean by the new way of using it here.

I have not been able to get the hang of the reverse interlinears yet. However, I am going to keep trying.

Totally agree. The newspaper style does not suit a bible study program.

I don't mind having to manually perform the search (it seems to indicate that Logos is not confident about the performance of v4!) but when I click New Testament it attempts a search on Byz (Byzantine 2005) with the wrong morphology i.e <lemma = lbs/el/ἀγάπη> instead of <lemma = mr/el/ἀγάπη>. Why it chooses Byz is a mystery.

On the newspaper, I disagree - I like it, but I think it is just too busy.  I would also like the option to turn it off.

It is much better than the v3 news system - a combination of alerts that popped up and the home page that never ended and you never looked beyond the first pane.

You do have the option to turn in off.  Just click the house at the top left hand corner, or for startup, go to the bottom left corner under customize and make sure the startup option is unclicked.

Longtime Logos user (more than $30,000 in purchases) - now a second class user because I won't pay them more every month or year.

I agree with you. I did not like the v3 news and announcement system. Can't say much, since I am not able to play with the Logos 4 much. Still solving the installation issues.

    Hi Alex,

Thank you for pointing me to how to turn it off... now if I can just figure out how to auto-load a named layout... I'll be set! Apart from some minor stuff, this is looking better & better!

    Thanks, Logos!

    Grace & Peace,
    Bill
