Logos 4 - Automatic Updates

Please could you tell me how I can update Logos 4 on the internet, in such a way
that I can do a small section at a time. e.g. In Logos 3 I could tick off the resources that
I wanted to upgrade. The Logos 4 upgrade is over 5 GB and I would like to do, say 1 GB at a time.
Thank you.

I don't think this is possible right now.

You can't take bit sized chucks like that. However, you can cancel the download midstream and you won't lose all your progress. When you let Logos download again it will be a smaller download.

I can understand you wanting to do this, I don't think it would be very good to implement. The reason being is that it would reindex every time you dicided to update a resource. Therefore, it would be faster to just update everything and have it re-index once. It may take a while to downlaod and reindex (especailly on major volume updates and new resources (like a commentary collection)), but once it is done, it's done. Under L3 if you click a couple resources, it did the update and you were off and running. While in L4 you are still up, but it's more like walking (or crawling on my 5 year old PC) vs running. Therefore I pause it during the day and have it do downloads and indexing at night.
In fact this would be a great feature. Have a seperate stand alone background task to check for updates and schedule indexing. This way even if I don't open L4 one day, it would still download the update and reindex at night and the following day it would be complete and I would be a happy camper.

I downloaded 5% of the total update and then terminated the update. This small portion upgraded me from Logos version 4 to
version 4a. It seems that the the remaining 95% was updates to resources. I will do more at a later date or wait for the next DVD.
Thank you.
