Where's The Message?
I know not everyone is a fan of The Message, but I like reading it as a devotional (i.e., not serious study). I'm surprised that this isn't available yet on the iPhone. In fact, it is the main reason I'm hanging on to a competitors app right now.
Any ETA on this?
Blessings,
Brandon

The Message doesn't appear on my library list, either, but it is on my laptop. I would like to have access to it on the iPhone. I also don't use it for serious study, but I do like to be able to read this translation.
Thank you,
Melissa

Logos has to get special permission from each publisher before making books available on iPhone. My first inclination is to suspect that Logos has not been given that permission yet.
In such a case, maybe Logos can tell us, is it worth users contacting publishers directly to make these requests? Would that help garner favor in getting their permission?

I would gladly if it would help, but my guess is that they wouldn't want us to do that.
It seems strange they wouldn't have permission. That (along with many other things) are all over the place in a variety of formats and programs (even on the iPhone).

Brandon

Hi Joe,
I'm a goofball and just read the FAQ and it answered my question (just like you did). Sorry, I didn't mean to be silly. Always read the FAQ.
I do want to say that the iPhone app is fantastic. It is the neatest thing! I love it !!
I can't wait until the Logos 4 for Mac is complete. I'm just so excited about all the new development for the Mac folks.
Thank you to all the developers for all their hard work.

Melissa,
glad you got it sorted out. I have not actually read the FAQ myself, just know this from other conversations. But I am glad to know they have that up and will refer people to it in the future.

Not really when you know the publishing industry. They want to make sure they are making the maximum profit on every book. I suspect some Publishers will never give permission to use their books.. at least not without wanting to charge an access fee of some kind. I am so thankful this is not the Logos model for iPhone :-)0 -

If their goal is to maximize profit, it seems like the publishers of THE MESSAGE would want as much exposure as possible. More exposure means more sales. Because so many Pastors and Sunday School Teachers use Logos for sermon preparation or lesson preparation, the use of THE MESSAGE in a lesson or a reference or quote might lead someone else to buy another bible of that translation or even an audio MP3 or CD for their car.
In any event, I hope the publishers will authorize the use of THE MESSAGE for the iPhone. I have enjoyed it on Logos and I never would have purchased it at the bookstore if I hadn't first had exposure to the translation on Logos. Just my two cents.
