Reinstalling Logos 5 on Mac OS X 10.9.5

Logos 5 was crashing on my MacBook Pro on every startup. Before it would load my startup page, the window would disappear and I'd get the not-so-friendly "not responding" notification in the Force Quit window. I decided to delete the application and do a fresh install, but when I open the newly installed software, it says I must upgrade to 5.2b SR-4 with a link to the Logos install page. Problem is...I can only install the version it gives me on there...which gives me the same notification. Any help available? Thanks!

Ugh. You might be SOL for a bit. logos removed sr-4 due to an unrelated issue... You might need to wait for sr-5 to be released. FWIW - deleting the engine is seldom a fix for anything. If there is a corruption in the install, then you need to tweak other files, but not the engine itself. We recommend enabling logging and posting them here for others to diagnose. In the future, you can use the instructions in my signature line.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I didn't have any reason to think I wouldn't be able to download working software.
The notification I get says there are files I have that will not work with this version. Might it be possible to log the problem now and root out the affecting file?

Welcome [:D]
The "pulled" Logos 5.2b SR-4 release can be downloaded
Caveat: next release will likely need to download newer release and manually replace application. Thread => http://community.logos.com/forums/t/91447.aspx includes:

For your information, we've taken down the download for 5.2b SR-4.
We identified an issue that could prevent users from getting further updates. We pulled the build, and expect to release a fix today or early next week. If you've already installed SR-4, you may need to manually download SR-5 once it's released.
Sorry for the inconvenience of this.

When the Logos application launches, version numbers are updated in database files used by Logos Bible Software.
To go back to a previous application, can use scan command to copy/discover resources; wiki has => https://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_Multiple_Macs#Copy_Logos_Resources_to_Mac_OS_X
Another option is waiting for Logos to release 5.2b SR-5 soon (32 bit application). Beta option is Logos 5.3 that is 64 bit application; wiki has => https://wiki.logos.com/The_Logos_5_Beta_Program
Am aware of Dead Sea Scroll issue in Logos 5.3 Beta 2 Text Comparison => http://community.logos.com/forums/t/88243.aspx
Desktop Beta forum => http://community.logos.com/forums/106.aspx has more Beta bugginess threads.

Thanks everyone. Got the link for SP4, as well as Mr. Grainger's e-mail. I appreciate the help. Will follow up once it's successfully reinstalled.

Thanks for the help, everyone. I've got the software reinstalled...but now I'm back to my original problem. When I launch the application, before the app finishes starting up, my window "minimizes" down into the dock (the genie effect on OS X)...and the application is listed as "Not Responding" in the Force Quit menu. I've seen reference to a logging utility that helps identify problems. How do I install that utility and figure out what my problem is?

The "mac logs" link in my signature line will take you to instructions and a download to the Logos logging utility tool for mac.

So...of course...now the problem seems to have "fixed itself." Tried to replicate the crash so I could log it and it seems to be working fine. I appreciate all of the help greatly. And I may be back.
