This is totally off topic, but I know there are folks reading this who can answer this question. My other address is SOTLBBS at COMCAST dot NET. I prefer any reply to come there, please, so as to not overburden the Forums.
I have come across a hardcover copy of A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature, Fourth Revised and Augmented Edition, 1952 by William F. Arndt and F. Wilbur Gingrich, The University of Chicago Press, Chicago, Illinois and Cambridge at the University Press on the main cover page. On the inside it has (c) 1957 by The University of Chicago, Published 1957 Third Impression 1957 at Chicago and Cambridge (and other wording). In the Foreword it tells me this is the 4th edition.
What I need to know is whether this 909-page book is the latest updated copy prior to electronic editions (don't care about multiple printings) or should I go look for another one? It even has its original dustcover, taped in places. But this is not the one that is seen in most advertisements on Amazon, Alibris, and elsewhere. The slightly yellowed pages are in superb condition.
This one was $35.95. This price is the major factor for asking this question. I am not sure that this low price means that I have a full edition. I could have an abridged edition and not know it.
I already have a LOGOS copy, so that is not the issue here.
Any thoughts on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
thanX!! very much.
God bless
