Challenges I'm experiencing with the updated NA28

Today I received the long-anticipated update to the NA28 with the Apparatus. I was under the impression that the "update" would be just that - an "update" and not a separate resource but I was incorrect. This has caused some challenges for me for which I would like to seek some advice.

Challenge 1 - Updating my reading plan for NA28

I have been in the habit of reading through the NA28 each year using a Logos reading plan. I would like to continue my reading plan for the year but use the updated NA28 instead of the original one without the apparatus. What I was hoping I could do was to simply edit the plan with the updated text but, before I do that, I want to make sure that it won't start a new plan and change my original plan. Does anyone have experience with this?

Challenge 2 - Transferring all my notes from the original NA28 to the updated one with the apparatus

As I said above, I was assuming that Logos would have just updated the NA28 but they have made a brand new resource. Because Logos has done this I am experiencing a challenge. Over the years I have made lots of notes and highlights within my NA28 that I would like to appear in the updated version. Is there any easy way to transfer those notes and highlights into the updated version? I really don't want to continually have to access two versions of the same resource. I'm hoping the answer is "yes" but suspicious that it may be "no".

I was really hoping that I could have these two resources integrated and I can't imagine that I'm the only one. Anyone able to offer some help?

Challenge 1 - Updating my reading plan for NA28

I could be wrong Bruce, but I think you can simply open your reading plan in Documents and change the resource your reading under the Read heading. I think you will be good to go then.

As for the answer to your second question I don't think there is any way of merging your notes into the new resource. A caveat here is that any note that you made that will appear in all bibles will of course follow the NA28 Auflage. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I do hope this answer will bring in the MVP's.

Thanks for your suggestion Beloved. I realize that I could just change the resource but I'm already 3/4 of the way through my plan for this year and I don't really want to start a new one. Ideally I'd just like to carry on with the new resource where I left off.

Of course all of this would not have been a problem if it was just an update and not a whole new resource. To me that is the disappointing part.

    Bruce,

This should work, but it would take time to complete.

For the first issue, you could start a new reading plan, exactly as the one you currently have, then manually check off the portions that you have read.

For the second issue, start a new note document and then manually drop and drag your old note file to the new one.

I now see your dilemma more clearly. There should be an edit feature so that you can easily substitute an alternate resource.

Say you got the notion to switch your bible version midstream. There should be a way to accomplish this easily.

I don't think this would be much of a challenge to a developer to add this feature to the current set up.

I thought of that too but wasn't excited about all the work that would take.

My text has lots of markups and notes. What you suggest would take a huge amount of time, something I was hoping to avoid.

    Yes, that would be amazing.

I still fail to understand why the NA28 was not simply an update. I'm sure there are reasons. I just pointing out some of the challenges.

I presume this was because otherwise people who don't have the apparatus would get all the marks in the text that they wouldn't be able to read.

Yes, but that might be a good thing for it may motivate them to purchase the apparatus.

I guess my conclusion to this seems to be that I have to start from scratch. My conclusion is that I am disappointed that the NA28 was not simply an upgrade of the same volume.
