Massive Update - Smart Text Selection - Download size

Dear Sir
I have a limit of less than 2 GB per month for all my downloading, updates, e-mail and browsing etc.
I would like to know the approximate size of this update in megabytes. I have got the Logos 4 Gold, Logos 5 Silver, and several other resources. I am also interested in the minimum and maximum download size.
Is there a way to prevent just this specific smart selection update until a time that suits me? Can I download a portion at a time over a few months?
I also feel that it is not always necessary to index the library after every update. There should be a switch in settings to specify indexing yes/no. There could also be a setting to specify time limits for the commencement of indexing, and another setting to specify whether a reboot should start the indexing process.
Please could you answer the above questions, especially the download size.
Thank you.

The download size will depend on exactly which resources you own but could easily be over 2GB! I hope you have a cafe with free wifi nearby.
You can turn off Internet activity or set it to only download updates after you click ok. Check the program settings. You can't download it over a few months.
The only real way to chose when to index is to restart the program just before you go to bed and then it will index over night. Or begin downloading the update and then close the program - it will automatically begin indexing after the download finishes.
Hope that helps!

Your download would be about 6½ GB. It's less than on the page which specifies download sizes for base packages as images don't need to be re-downloaded.

Martin, additionally as suggested use open wifi, or purchase a Logos Disc.
I once downloaeded a whole set of journals and burned them onto a disc and shipped it to South Africa.
Tell us where you live, and maybe someone who has downloaded the update can copy their resources onto a disc and mail it to you.

Martin,
I estimate my approximate size of my library by going to the Library Folder, see the screen shoot gives you my path to locate it ... your path name will be different.

With a 2GB per month limit to contend with, the best option will probably be to purchase a resource disk or disks from Logos. Contact customer service and see if they can compile all or most of the resources you own in a special disk set. Once you load the resources using the command option of "Scan", the only thing your will have to contend with in the future will be the resource updates.

Disregard my previous reply. Once I read the post again, I determined that my reply is out of context. [:$]

I'd say a maximum of 8 GB and a minimum of 6 GB, as I have a similar library to yours.
If you find the size of your \Resources folder (within the\ResourceManager folder shown above) the maximum will be roughly 0.75 of that amount.

As stated above this is will be a difficult time for you. The realistic options are:
- if your limit is restored at the start of a calendar month then delay the download and purchase a 10 GB option for November only
- go to a good friend with a limit of 10 GB or higher
- delay the download and scan** the resources from someone with a similar library to yours. After you restart Logos you can see how much is remaining to download
The last option is risky as you might still have more than 2 GB to download.
To "delay the download" I recommend that you set Automatically Download Updates to NO. You will know the size of the download and can choose when to do it.
** don't copy the resources but use the scan command.

Hmmm ... Dave ... those are interesting numbers. That'd put me over my limit too and I've got multiples of the OP's limit.
I checked my orders. Maybe Sophicles would be worth a few tears in the beer. Otherwise, I think I'll cash in my chips. Too rich for our cellular (making those last payments on the Rolls, don't cha know).
Bob's making noices about screwing the iOS app up too, so I better read faster. He can't mess with Libronix anymore.
