Highlighting Lag

I just transitioned from an iPhone 5s to a Galaxy Note 4. Everything works great, but there is significant lag between the time I press the "Done" button in the highlighting dialogue box to when the highlighting actually shows up. It's like an 8-10 second delay. On the iPhone, the highlighting was applied almost instantaneous.

I have tried this on two separate wifi networks with the same results.

I'll write up a case for this but I'm not sure if it's a bug.  When comparing app performance on dissimilar platforms it's hard to know what to expect since the hardware and operating systems are vastly different.

Generally speaking, our iOS apps have been faster than their Android equivalents because with iOS there isn't a Java runtime layer involved.  This might or might not be related to what you are seeing, but the good news is the slower Dalvik Android runtime will soon be replaced by the much faster ART runtime in newer versions of Android.

I'll ask the dev team about it.

Thank you, Kevin. Do you know when the Dalvik runtime will be replaced by ART? With Lollipop?

I believe Android 5 (aka Lollipop) will use the ART runtime by default.
