I'm reading through two atlases now and it looks like I can't find the maps in Bible Facts where I can zoom in, and I can't zoom in on them within the atlases. I wish I could do that.

Try F11 to open full screen. Be sure you are set to one column. You can copy an image to Word or somewhere that you can enlarge it. You sometimes have better success on an iPad where you can actually enlarge the image, take a screen shot and have a usable image.
A low quality enlargement can be got in Win 8 by pressing + "+" (plus sign) to open the Windows magnifying glass.
Some images within Logos are unreadable/unusable, sadly.
I would like moveable map, for example, where one can trace place to place the travels of Paul
F11 doesn't seem to work. I'm viewing the following, and as I read I'm in one column. But when I go to F11, I get three columns, and the maps won't resize.
Wright, P. H. (2012). Rose Then and Now Bible Map Atlas with Biblical Background and Culture. Torrance, CA: Rose Publishing.
Win-+ does work. I'll have to make good use of that.
I guess I'm thinking of the Android version: when I click on a map, a viewer takes over and I can zoom in, at least somewhat, to see closer views. I wish I could do that in the desktop version.

Yeah, Bible Facts is cool, but I would love to see something special here. Quality vector map sets, Layers, Full Screen mode, Exporting/Printing, Support for drawing on the map, etc.
Animating an XYZ coordinate series relative to a table of locations I don't view as 'cool' (no offense). Especially when you have to squint to find the desired location. The old Logos Bible Atlas (another thread today) was cool. Win95? Time adjustable locations and early 3D views. I still use it along with Libronix.
Plus I loaded Logos maps into my own Bible software image viewer, where you have control over everything including cleaning up the image pixels automatically.
The new Logos Bible Atlas should update to something along the lines of https://itunes.apple.com/app/earthviewer/id590208430?mt=8 where the Bible lands could be morphed in 3D over time (beginning at 4004 BC of course). And as noted above, vectored even better.
But with Logos6 next week, we'll just have to see what they came up with.
By the way, for any mapping afficionados (in my case putting older maps on top of Israel topos, geology, etc), if you use iOS and deal with very large files, you may want to try the LargeViewer app. Some of mine are JPG2000s and 400meg after expansion, which even on my beefy PC are slow-ish. But spin on a dime, on my iPad mini. I also tried putting in old lexicons (PDFs) and now they spin the page images.
Philip,
What happens when you go to Tools > Bible Facts and enter a location in the box?
When a map showing that location comes up, you can zoom in and out with the scroll wheel on your mouse.
Hoping this is helpful,
Steve
Steve,
Going through Tools > Bible Facts works really well when my goal is to look for a specific location. And I love how it zooms in and out.
But I'm reading some contemporary atlases and can't do the same: I know that some resources populate the data in Bible Facts, but apparently not all. And I know that some current atlases include a DVD (etc.) with high resolution graphics. So I was hoping that I would get access to these through Logos 5. But I guess not.
Shucks!
FWIW, I'm reading through the Holman Bible Atlas and the Rose Then and Now Bible Atlas.
Oh, man. Wait till you see the new Atlas feature in Logos 6! Zoomable maps on steroids!
Zoomable maps on steroids!

Hallelujah! Amen!
Unfortunately, zooming still needs some work. I get the oddest behaviors. Sometimes maps zoom, sometimes they don't. If I go back to another map and find one that zooms, then re-select the desired uncooperative un-zoomable map it may or may not zoom. Be nice to get this zoom fixed ZOOOOM! Actually, Logos, take your time. There are other bigger fusses right now.

Gao, I am not able to reproduce this behavior in L6's Atlas feature, more details may be required. One thing to be aware of is that different maps in Atlas have different zoom levels.
For instance, "A Samaritan Village Rejects Jesus" has only 3 zoom levels:
Where as, "Biblical World -- Life of Jesus" has several more levels:
Yay to zoomable maps. [Y]
But it seems the maps aren't vectorized. I read somewhere that all the map data is over 10 terabytes. If it were vectorized the space requirements would be reduced considerably and we can enjoy all the maps offline.

The background tiles are rasters, and they take a lot of space. The library we're using to produce them has recently released a vector-based system, but we haven't had the opportunity to investigate it yet: we want to get more maps shipped first.
I am able to reproduce it like this:

Try variations of allowing and stopping an "autozoom" (Can I call it that?) At least that is what I did. Some maps pop up without the "autozoom" but I can't tell if that is a factor or not.
The behavior to me seems random and only occasionally occur. Keep trying. Maybe it is random, but incidence seems higher with some maps such as Modern Jerusalem and Movements of the ark (and others). Sometimes a map will zoom and other times it will not.
In Logos all maps were zoomable and we had the ability to pan and show full screen. In Logos 6 we only have that ability for Atlas and in a separate place the 63 logos maps. Will this ability be available in the future? I would like for the Esv maps and all maps to have this feature like we had in Logos 5.
I didn't find any loss of functionality between L5 & L6 - can you elaborate?
That's good news. Thanks for sharing. The vector-based system sounds promising. I hope migrating your data would be painless. In fact, it might save you a lot of time to trial it at the first opportunity.

You seem to be referring to the old maps from Logos 5. The zoomable, online Atlas feature is new to Logos 6 and can be accessed from the Tools menu.
In Logos 5 all maps were zoomable and located in one place available from the right click menu. In Logos 6 only the Atlas Maps and the 63 Logos 5 Maps are Zoomable. Here is a Map in the New Bible Dictionary in Logos 5 that was Zoomable. In Logos 6 these other maps are not zoomable.

No doubt you are right. I am using L6. Accessing maps from Tools makes more sense, but if someone (like me) does something odd like open maps from the library, well....odd things happen. No need to fix it on my account. It works fine from the Tools menu.
I just double checked and "Biblical Places Maps" still behaves this way.
Logos Bible Software 6.0 SR-36.0.0.3752
I am assuming they will become zoomable...right?
