I have a new laptop coming soon and was wondering about loading the B4 so I could sync my PBBs. Then, after getting Logos on my new laptop, to load the B4 so I could get my PBBs back to my new laptop. Would this work?
Hi Dan. [:)]
Not all personal books will sync, but most will. Do you have any REALLY large .docx files?
You can sync your personal books, and they would download to the new laptop. What you need to worry about is the .docx files. Will you ever need to edit the personal books? The sync is ONLY for the compiled file. The .docx file will not sync through the Logos servers.
All I can say is that a pb that I created and tested uploading with the beta was automatically downloaded on a new laptop I got about 4 weeks ago when I installed the regular non-beta edition of 5.2.
I did not test if I could do all of my pb's - or how many at all. I was just shocked that a pb came through in the regular install process with the CURRENT version.
My largest .docx file is 75 mb. I have all my .docx files compiled. Each week I add a new sermon to a particular book, say Joshua, and then recompile it into a pbb. I have all my sermons into pbbs and did not want to start over. If I can sync them in the beta, and have them download onto the new laptop, that would be nice.
I tried to find release notes about file sizes... no luck. I am fairly certain that 75 MB is too large.
For clarification though: Personal book sync is syncing the compiled files ONLY. You won't be able to edit (i.e. recompile) them on the new computer without the original .docx file.
Sounds good. I have all the original files on hand. Thanks.
