Windows Store App (Bible!) Library org

I have Logos 5 on my main laptop, but I just picked up a tablet to use on-the-go, mostly as an e-reader, really. I installed the Windows Store App and figured out how to download books, but it doesn't give me a list of just the books I've downloaded, and there's no collections either? I have a lot of books in my library (I downloaded Perseus ages ago) and would like to be able to see just a list of the books that are downloaded on my device, at least- I'm sure collections would be more work, but Kindle and Nook both let me see lists of items in process of downloading, items downloaded, and items on cloud.

Is there a way to see just the downloaded books (without, obviously, turning off wifi)? Or to sort them any way other than alphabetically by title? (Or search by author?)

Unfortunately, the Windows Store app is fairly rudimentary, as you've observed, and further development is on hold. Sorry about that!

I don't suppose opening the Windows app for crowdsourced coding could happen? If you're not planning on doing anything with it. Those of us with Windows devices (like, say, tablets that we bought specifically for reading) that aren't powerful enough to run the full program are pretty much out of luck.

I'm fine with it staying rudimentary, but my wish list would be to sort the library by:

-downloaded/not downloaded

-tags

-Library Collections

(In a perfect world, I'd be able to download and read my documents- like Clippings- as well, but you don't have that for Android yet, so I don't expect it.)

Why is further development on hold? I would really like a more touch-friendly version on my new Windows 8.1 tablet. Using the Full Logos 6 application is pretty slow. The iPad version of Logos is really nice and I was hoping to see feature parity.

It would appear that Logos / Faithlife does not see its future in Windows.

The growing popularity of the Surface Pro 3 tablets may change their minds, if sales continue to grow.

What I wonder is how much longer Logos will support "main windows." There almost appears to be a growing dislike of Windows and MS at Logos -- sort-of a counter-reaction to the deep love affair between Logos and MS in the early years. I have a _lot_ of money invested in Logos, I'm beginning to think that investment might have been a major mistake over all these years -- that folks I know who say, "stick to physical book," might have been right all along. It's becoming obvious this isn't about "market share" -- it looks like there's something deeper going on here.

Russ, I understand your frustration, and share it.

However, you simply cannot do with physical books what you can do with Logos. And Logos for Windows is still the most advanced version of Logos. So I don't regret my Logos purchases.

But I am becoming more inclined to consider eBook purchases from other sources than I used to be. My customer loyalty has been impacted. I have been a Logos customer for over 20 years, and for the first time I feel the company is moving in the wrong direction for me.

I think Logos is making some mistakes, but I might be wrong. Time will tell. I think they are making a mistake by not adapting Logos to be more touch screen friendly. For me, I have found my needs best met with my Windows Surface Pro, and would not consider using anything that was not a Windows two in one machine.

I have also gone to the Surface Pro 3 - and the lack of Windows support for what is arguably the best study device out there is a little amazing and disheartening.

I have put my plans to upgrade to Logos 6 on hold as I survey what my options are. Windows 10 is shaping up quite nicely, and I only have two Macs left at home, with no plans to upgrade them when their life cycle expires.

I have chosen to put all my purchases from Lotus 123 on hold until a touch friendly application developed. What irritates me more than anything is I have been a loyal customer since the Libronix days and have been pretty happy with the enhancements and direction since those days however now I feel abandoned and no comment from management means to me they don't care about loyalty.

It's been a long tiresome day so maybe after some much needed sleep I might retract this message tomorrow but I doubt it.

Let's look at this from the point of view of a person who doesn't use Window mobile - me. By dropping this product Faithlife clearly implied it was not making a profit and they saw no reason to believe that it would in the near future. Why should those of us who don't use Windows mobile subsidize the Windows app? If the answer were that in certain parts of the world it was the only app that could be run, I'd feel good about subsidizing it. If the answer were that it was the only app that adapted for the blind, quadriplegic etc., I'd feel good about it. If the answer were that it was the only app that could support certain languages, I'd feel good about it.

But as it stands, convince me that I should pay extra to support a Windows mobile app that loses money. Otherwise, prove that you can raise the money needed to support the product.

Lotus 123? It sounds like it has been a long day for you . Do hope you get some rest and I agree that this is an area Logos will not be able to put off much longer. We need a touch friendly version that is offline friendly and lets you managed your library on a per device basis so you can use it on a powerful Surface 4, a cheap mini tablet, or a phone.
