It updated 1334 resources out of 3456, or 39%. Indexing will need time.

Has anyone's update stalled? Mine has been stuck at 26% for the last 40 minutes

Mine has finished downloading on my laptop (the fan has gone into overdrive as it indexes), but I am not even at 40% yet on the desktop.

Fortunately mine ended up being roughly 90 minutes in total including a 1.7 GB download and the resulting index. Just finished launching Logos and messing around for a few minutes before heading to bed.
Logos 5, Windows & Android perfect together....

An hour and a half to download 1.51 GB- Not bad. 30 min. of "Preparing your library" and now indexing. 2049 resources updated, that is about 66% of my resources.

Indexing finished and the software seems to work fine, maybe a little faster than before.
I am not sure whether the smart selection works, I tried to test it.
Anyway, I prefer to select everything myself, for example in Word I have turned off most computer intelligence

Logos.com is down right now (for "something exciting") so maybe the resource servers are affected too. I'm glad my download finished before it went down. Wondering if I'll have to do some more big downloading once it's back up again.

It may be on your end. The servers containing the update are on Amazon. My PC updated last night. I just run update on my tablet pc and it's at 15% of 2.68GB, so it's moving pretty good.. Slow down may be on your side or between you and the Amazon servers. If it doesn't progress after a while Logos may be hung up and you may need to terminate Logos and restart it.

This is not done on a Logos server but via Amazon's supermassive web services. Throughput won't be a problem server side.

Hmm, I am an Amazon customer, and have never seen a download percentage rate this slow from them! Lots of books and music, and usually a minute or two for an album, for instance from Amazon. I have experienced this slowness before when I upgraded my Logos package.

To be fair, an album on my computer is roughly 47 MB. My Logos Download is more like 1.8GB. The resources are larger than a standard MP3.
I'm not up on how a server actually handles the difference in origin file size, but I suspect memory buffering may have something to do with it. That would affect throughput no? (Note that I am willing to be SOOO very wrong in this. [:)])

Yes, it does seem that an album compared to this update would be approximately a 40:1 ratio, so that would indicate this update would take three to four hours. As suggested, there could also be other buffering issues...anyhow, I'm looking forward to the new features!

I guess the logos.com servers are being slammed. I am unable to get the resource update started.
I get this error in the logs when I do an "update now":
2014-10-27 08:49:54.7992 37 Error WebServiceClient WebServiceException in GetResourceFileInfoWork: Libronix.Utility.Net.WebServiceException: Status code not handled. Request: POST https://services.logos.com/resource/v3/FileService.svc (status ServiceUnavailable, content type 'text/html')
Maybe I'll forgo trying for a few days.

I updated successfully on Logos 5 for Mac, 2.78GB Download, about 3 hours, indexing about 3 hours. Now trying to Update Logos 5 for Windows ... No Updates Available.

There appears to be an issue in downloading new and updated resources which Logos is aware of and is currently addressing. See the discussion here,

The speed of your indexing will be determined by a number of factors:
- The size of the download
- The content of the download (some resources have more to index)
- The specs of your computer (OS, HDD/SSD type and capacity, Processor, Ram)
- The version of Logos you are using.

The download was 1.25 gb and I started it at 2am and when I checked at 9:30am it was at 43%. I canceled it and I guess for now I will not be updating or using Logos for a while. Have to use a competitors software to do Bible Study. The site is overtaxed.

I have been having issues with downloads for a while, but they don't appear to be "overtaxed server" issues. Did you at least restart your computer and allow it to index what it had downloaded? Did you change automatic downloads to "no" to allow you to use your system? Was your computer just slow and still downloading, or just "stuck" at 43%?

Yes, I was able to open Logos on my iMac and turn off automatic updates before it got that far. I will restart my MBP so I can see what it download at least and let it index.
