I think I will wait until February 3rd

I appreciate the excellent communication that Logos has put out today compared to the launch of L5.
However, I am not seeing a compelling reason to upgrade. There are many new bells and whistles, but none of them are grabbing my attention except the "everything search" and possibly the "visual copy" feature.
I am on Gold now, and to upgrade to the new Gold is over $700. I am transitioning from Pastoral ministry to full-time mission work in Guatemala; that kind of expenditure is not possible for me.
I suppose I could upgrade to Starter for $60, but I am not sure if I even want to do that.
So at this point I am going to wait until the free engine is available on 2/3.
I am open to being convinced otherwise. What is your opinion?

I would take some time to review the various data sets and features and decide what is of value to you. Make your decision accordingly.

Do what I did and just get one of the crossgrades.
Yes, I saw those but the cheapest option for me is still $124.
It is not compelling enough at this point.

I fully get where you are coming from, Jerry, and, I agree with Fred that only you can determine what constitutes the best use of resources. There is a ton of information on the Logos 6 thread, but, additionally, I thought you might find the YouTube channel debuting some of the new features interesting/helpful.

I understand, I did the pay plan option (25 per month for me) and I plan to payoff sooner to avoid the service fees.

Most of what is new in Logos 6 is the new data. I do find some of that pretty interesting and worth owning. Logos has priced the Feature Crossgrade at about $155 and you'll get all the new stuff in Logos with that plus the new engine a few months ahead of time.
I don't know if you've looked at the introductory videos that Logos has posted on YouTube. Those will give you an idea of some of the crossgrade features. Those are found here.
I'm not trying to sell you anything but hope you've had a chance to see as many of the new features as possible before making a final decision.

For me I felt like the books especially in gold were of a much better quality than Logos 5, I didn't see the full list just what I didn't have and it was much more than the money it cost me to upgrade.

I haven't written a review of L6 (and probably won't). But this review pretty much sums up what I'm thrilled about: http://overviewbible.com/batmobile-bible-study-logos-bible-software-6/
(I was involved in the beta test, so my being thrilled is real, not theoretical! This stuff works, and is really useful.)

Comparing packages from one generation to the next has at least been made easier since L5 with the 'new to you' feature on the website.
No one needs to upgrade to a new package to get L6 at this point. The Feature Crossgrade will provide all the L6 functionality for under $160. For what you are getting I consider that a great deal. In February you can get the new engine which is free.
One thing I do like about the new L6 Standard Gold package (and above) is that the Pillar and New International Greek Testament Commentaries have returned. To me this makes this package much more recommendable than L5 Gold.

For me, the upgrade to Reformed 6 Gold was less than the cost of Barth's Dogmatics on its own. So it was brilliant for me. That being said, I think I owned 5 Portfolio so I may be helped price wise because of that
