over 3700 resources updated. why?

I have a desktop and a laptop/tablet PC (not a tablet device). I keep them both updated and matching as possible.

this morning, my desktop had half (or so) of my library get "updated", while my laptop did not. anyone else have this happen? even if it is L6-related (have not ordered yet), why only on one system and not the other?

A lot of (most) Logos customers experienced this - it is described at https://blog.logos.com/2014/10/new-logos-5-update-smart-selection/ and see https://community.logos.com/forums/t/92583.aspx for some context.

It isn't directly related to L6 and should have happened to both your systems assuming they both had Internet enabled. Do you have automatic download set to "no" or "yes" on your laptop?

Brent, Logos announced a huge update of our resources that began last night about midnight EST. This enables a new feature that works in L5.3 and L6, smart selection. (Look on the forums for Massive Update.)

On your laptop, type Update Now in the Command Bar then his Enter and it should find that big download to begin it. An alternative approach is described here.

There's a server fault at Logos that has currently stopped downloads working. Probably your desktop noticed the update before this fault, whilst your laptop did not.

thanks for the info(s). I actually have a shortcut created for update now, and otherwise, yes, it is set to automatic.

I do have one question, before the download my library had over 8,000 resources, after the download and indexing my library says I have 7,010 resources. What happened to over 1000 resources. Are they counting them differently now? I've tried updating but keep getting the response "there are no new updates."

Okay, My laptop did update yesterday afternoon, apparently after some servers started coming back online/available.

I didn't have this problem, DanB, my resource counts are the same as they were before the updates. you may want to start a new thread (if you haven't yet), so that it gets the attention you need - or just call tech support for Logos, and see if they can help.
