Logos Desktop Comes Up With Laptop Display

I suspect this has something to do with the computer problems Logos has been encountering, but when I brought up Logos today, I was greeted with my news page.  When I clicked to go to my study page, it was blank.  Then I looked at my layouts and they were all displays from my laptop!

Please tell me that somewhere in Logos' servers my desktop layout can be retreived!  It will take an hour to rebuild it plus, though I know I was in Galations, I don't recall WHERE in Galations I was.

If I ever get this resolved, I vow to remove Logos from my laptop!

Layout have been syncing between laptops and desktops for years so that it the internet option was on, the same layouts should appear in both. Did you go to the layouts (upper right) and look for your desktop layouts? If you haven't reused the same names for different layouts, you should be fine.

I did look for my desktop layout on both my desktop and my laptop.  It isn't there.  I don't save my layouts but they do appear in the layouts screens - or at least they always used to.

I use my laptop only on Sunday at church and the church has wi-fi.  To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time this has ever happened.  If this is a common occurrence, I would think there would be a caveat somewhere or Logos would have done something to prevent it!

I guess everyone using Logos software is expected to stay current with posts to the forums.  As for myself, I'm far too busy for that.  I only come here if I need help.

Okay so you use the "application closed" layout rather than having named it? I'd recommend naming those you use frequently simply to make it easier to find them. But there's not been a change in the saving of layouts for some time so the problem definitely isn't that you don' waste time on the forums. How many layouts are shown on the layout window?

I got a reprieve!  Down at the bottom of my Layouts list was a Galatians layout from back in September.  I apparently did save it - at 76 years of age it becomes difficult to remember things, like where I was in Galatians.

I'm still going to use a different program on the laptop.  By the way, I generally just close the laptop at church, putting it in hibernation.  About once a month I restart it at home and bring options up to date such as Logos, AVG etcetera.

    Thanks, Gerry

    Gerry,

I use the MAC version of Logos5.  In the Preferences you can specify which layout to use at startup.  I use "Most recent layout - local" and have layouts specified for my MacBook Pro and MacBook Air seperately.  All layouts are synchronized between computers and you can select them manually later if you want to.
