Can any employee comment on how long they expect the website to be down? I haven't been able to see any of the new packages yet.
Given that they didn't expect to have to take it down and given their motivation to be up ASAP, it I were a Logos employee working on whatever the issue is, now is about the time I'd start barking at any manager who came to ask me when ii would be fixed. -- okay I only remember once when my bass boss and I actually did loose our temper ...[:)]
Note: given that my boss was a cellist I'm in double trouble.
it I were a Logos employee working on whatever the issue is
If I were a Logos employee working on whatever the issue is, I wouldn't be reading and responding to the forums, I'd be focused 100% on getting the problem fixed and the website back up again as quickly as possible. The other employees who do have time to be perusing the forums might not be quite as much in the know about what the problem is and how soon it will be resolved. I think we just need to practice the virtue of patience.

Just teasing I did get a good laugh out of it though, its good to know I'm not the only one who makes typos and sends them to the forums.I was emailing my salesman today (Rusty) and at awkward places where one might toss in someones name if they were one to over use an individuals name in a sentence (IE Hey MJ, I Liked your post MJ, it made me laugh MJ) - I kept typoing the letter J in all caps. It came out Hey J! How have you been J? Just wondered J if you could check on... well you get the idea. I'm going to blame the low batteries in my wireless keyboard Yeah. thats it.
Just got off the phone with my sister, who did the copywriting for Logos 6. She said they've had people working (including her) working nearly around the clock for the last day or so. This has been the biggest launch they've ever had. She's confident they'll be up and running later today.

Our team was up all night and they're still going... we did everything we could think of to be prepared for today (we even have a backup generator in the parking lot!), but we knew there would still be some unknowns with traffic levels and new configurations.
We have a test environment for our web site, but a large, interconnected system like ours depends on lots of servers, and a full clone of the full production environment has been financially out of reach. So some of the deployment had to be done live, and some things couldn't be thoroughly tested before going live because of inter-dependencies.
I don't know all the details, but it looks like there's some issue with new caching services we put in place to help manage the increased load. They team is working hard to get things up, and we'll leave the 'what exactly went wrong?' conversation to later analysis.
While you're waiting, you might want to watch the Logos 6 videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/LogosBibleSoftware
Thanks for your patience!
Actually Bob, despite the high visibility of the problem, I think that the planning that went into thus rollout shows. The forum posts, the stability of the product, the state of the data even when incomplete all speak to a well run project.
The program is stuck with 666MB left to download.
It's either a evil sign of things to come or a clever advertising trick.
Also you can see that a lot of lessons from the Logos 5 rollout have been learned, and you can see them being specifically addressed.
This is me today -
At the beginning this morning, I was getting the "time out" error...for the last few hours I am getting "do you want to open or save www.logos.com/ from logos.com?
Obviously neither one works
It's my fault. I had to re-install my entire Logos 5 library on two machines over the weekend. That probably overloaded things before they even launched L6. :-)
Is L6 downloads being served up off FaithLife's in-house servers or are you using AWS S3 and CloudFront to serve up the downloads?
The downloads are from Amazon's servers, but we were having issues with our licensing service overloading (our servers) earlier which was preventing downloads. It should be fixed.
It should be fixed.
We all agree. It should be fixed.
But - if you meant 'we should find it fixed now' I must disagree. Still "Problem loading page..."
Just so you know.
Completely agree - it has certainly been better planned than the L5 implementation. I can be positive because my 3.5GB download just completed and it's busy indexing now! Loving the new features - This really is a release that is rich in features, and the I'm pleased with the resources that have been added to L6 Platinum vs the comparable L5 package. The website is also intermittently working again now, so they do seem to be getting on top of it.

Sorry - my phrasing was sloppy. The issue preventing resource downloads should be fixed. The team is still working on restoring stability to Logos.com. Apologies for the miscommunication.
It is definitely not fixed.
The issue preventing resource downloads should be fixed.
Thanks for clarifying.
Been trying to get onto the Logos website for about 6 hours give or take, and haven't had a single peek at a Logos 6 bundle. [:(]

Disclaimer: I'm not on the web or commerce team at Faithlife.
With that said, some users have reported better luck accessing Logos.com when they are not signed in (i.e. don't have an authentication cookie). You can try this in a browser you haven't used to sign in or in a Chrome incognito window.
Obviously, this will not give you dynamic pricing, etc. But if all you want is a "peek at a Logos 6 bundle", it may serve your needs.
Unfortunately, I fall in the category of peeked and purchased, so I will have to wait until they figure out this authentication issue.

I was thinking something like that was causing the issue. I still have to contact my rep to place my order, but good to know.
When I load Logos.com WITHOUT being signed in, performance is definitely a little better.
Okay--shameless plug to read my review of L6 while you wait for the Website to get back up. I link to/embed a couple videos from Logos and show some new features. No base package info, though.
You should also check out Joel Watts's site--he's been posting about Logos today, too.
I can access to the site which has Logos 6 Core promo video. But I cannot put Logos 6 Crossgrade into my cart for purchase. Hope they can fix the problem ASAP!
I can't get into the site at all - I had to essentially do a swerve through FaithLife to get here.
Strangely it won't load in Safari at all but opens with really limited operability in Torch.
I saw the bundles
Thanks Alan. I have been trying logos.com off and on all day long without success. I just tried in Chrome and got in almost instantly.
Just updated from Firefox 32 to 33.0.1. English Windows 8.1 system (not the latest MSI Windows Updates installed, but most of the rest such as all security updates, latest full Windows update and optimization about 1 month ago, Bitdefender antivirus and firewall), essentially 2009 hardware on Core2Quad Q9300 (2008 CPU model). Wanted to place the NRSV in the cart with my spare Logos account, got this error in the browser after a wait, XML-interpretationerror: unexpected interpretationstatus, and on the second last row it says "row number" and "column" and then the code in red:
EDIT: now it says file can't be found, try again. In neither the above case nor this one was I logged in. EDIT2: I might have been logged in a part of time (a minute while the above effort tried to load):
EDIT2: deleted cookies from the last hour, it gives the same file can't be found error.
If you delete the cookie for Logos.com it will allow you to get on.
Well, maybe the website will be up by February 3, when I will have all options available.
It seems they are re-directing traffic for the time being; no downloads yet, but you can view features of Logos 6.
Well, I am able to open the website, I think.
Someone help out an old man:
Right now, I simply want to see my account. I don't want to call and talk to someone about my account; just see it.
It's up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAY! 1AM here in CST, got up for bathroom break and had to check. It's like Christmas!
I, too, was glad to see it up. Ive been beta testing L6 and love where they have taken things.
Outstanding effort!
I was finally able to view the packages this morning. I was already in the process of upgrading to Diamond, not knowing that L6 was about to launch. I'm glad I hadn't pulled the trigger yet, because in my opinion Diamond 6 is a much better package. I know part of the assessment comes from my interests so others may not agree, but from my perspective the new base packages offer an even greater value than before. I could not be more pleased! My only frustration is I don't have more to spend
Right now, I simply want to see my account.
OK, Robert. Stop being such a grouch.
Got in early this morning (EDT) and made my painless little sidegrade so I would have the new interface and some portion of the features without having to wait for the free engine in February.
It's up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAY!
It was working for me late last night, but it's down again this morning (LOOOONG wait and then just a blank page).
Sigh.
Its working for me rosie... may need to clear your cache.
I am having difficulty right now as well. Pages not loading. Unable to add things to my cart. I can wait, but it does seem the gremlins are back.
It's been reported here - https://community.logos.com/forums/t/93077.aspx - which also references another thread.
The /compare page has been persistently down for a couple of hours. The web site home page has been up and down sporadically in that time (more up than down, but consistently slow at a minimum).
Donnie
It seems to be up and down up and down. Yes, abondservant, I'd tried clearing my cache already and that didn't work. But now I'm able to access it again. For now.
I'm able to get on at this point in this. I wonder if it has something to do with where the traffic is coming from.
I suspect we're seeing waves of activity based upon timezones and people either getting up in the morning, or getting off of work and trying to check it out on either side.
Also probably waves of activity from people giving up and thinking it's down for a while and then other people manage to get through because the traffic slows down.
