VERY RECENT Logos 5 Portfolio Purchase - Is there an upgrade cost to Logos 6?

Does anyone know if there is a different rate for people who just bought Logos 5 in the last 60 days or so? Thus far the only information I've found is in the forums because I can't make it to the site. I've seen someone say there is a $600 functionality only crossgrade option among others. Is this the case for recent purchases?

An upgrade cost, this close to my purchase, would be a major let down.

I spent a months and months researching a Logos 5 purchase. As a seminary student I really wanted to find out from professors and users what would be best. For months I was getting calls from Logos with tons of emails from about 5 different sales people trying to get a sale. I only chatted 2 or 3 times on the phone with Logos but had been encouraged to buy asap due to my academic pricing. Before I settled on anything I asked in June if there were any major updates that would cost money this year and was told nothing was on the horizon that they specifically knew of but that software updates happen regularly and don't cost anything.

Obviously there would be an exception for the release of a new version, hence my inquiry, so I clarified about a version update and received the same answer. I finally called at the very end of August and decided on Logos 5 Portfolio. The service I got from Todd Cullop was very good and his recommendations on books were great. Given that I had been told in June, by another sales person, there wasn't an upcoming release (version), that would cost money, on the horizon, at least that was "known" I confidently purchased the software.

To make such a large purchase, Logos 5 Portfolio, so close to a version release I would hope there is a full free upgrade - especially given the due diligence efforts, users like myself, have tried to make to avoid a scenario where we'd have to pay for an upgrade.

Does anyone know? I've tried emailing and calling Todd who sold me Logos but I'm sure he's very busy.

Special provisions have been made for those who purchased a base package recently - I don't recall the details. Talk to or email Logos rather than using the website and find out what your options actually are.

For clarification: The software is ALWAYS free. No matter what happens, you WILL be able to get the L6 engine free of cost (I think the engine becomes available for everyone in February). When you purchase a "base package," you are purchasing resources, not the software. The base packages change from time to time, and certainly when Logos releases a new major version. 

There are provisions for those who purchased Logos very recently... but it might mean giving up an L5 base package for an L6 one... which would mean losing some resources from the old package and gaining new ones instead. Also, be aware of two other things:

1. You are given a discount in new base packages for resources you already own. 
2. The "level" of L5 base package that you own (i.e. "gold") is really meaningless when you purchase a new base package. You can take a look at any of the L6 base packages and choose one that you like, and receive a discount for the resources you already own. In other words, you can have an L5 "gold" package and an L6 "silver" (or whatever).

Thank you for the information. I had reached out in the forums because I tried to reach the person who sold me Logos 5 via phone/email and hadn't heard back. I'm sure he's inundated with calls. Perhaps I'll go ahead and just call in. For informational purposes I guess it doesn't matter who I talk to. I always like to work with the same person when possible, especially if there is commission involved.

Bob P. answered in another thread that there are options from swapping L5 for L6, upgrading to L6 and ??? You should be getting an email outlining your options in a day or so.
