Logos needs a grouchy old man site

I am looking for quick facts about Logos 6, and why I should upgrade, and the differences in packages.

And what I get is touchy feely smiley music videos. It makes me want to pull my hair out - well at least the gray ones.

I think it must be a generational thing. But the young adults in my church love me, I promise.

It's marketing Michael. The focus is clearly aimed at the young seminary students and pastors who sport geometrically awkward hairdos and wino trim.

Us old guys realize it's like a new car. Runs great, GPS, cool color, and all that. Inspiring until you realize there's potholes and three months a year of snarled traffic and construction detours.

Michael, you might try looking at the feature videos here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXkjd_l1xkSQ5fM605M-F5xikKNGBdPvj. They're each focused on a specific feature, so looking down the list you can see what some of the main features are, and you can focus on the ones that seem most relevant to your needs.

Also, Phil's post here provides a fairly comprehensive index of new and updated features, resources, and datasets, linked to individual forum pages that summarize them. That's another easy way to get a quick overview of everything that's included (it's a lot!).

Logos likes money, so maybe for a Gold Package and above or reasonable fee we could subscribe to a reduced-impact-marketing shopping experience.

Thanks to all my patient friends. I think I am back to being just an old man, and not a grouchy old man. My wife disagrees, but my grandkids agree with me.

I thought seriously about not participating in this century, but I am considering giving it a try.

I was caught by surprise by the release of Logos 6. Perhaps I have not been paying enough attention.

I have been able to upgrade to a wonderful package with the help of a very nice young fellow at Logos. His mama must have taught him to be nice to old folks. He gave me amazing discounts, and helped me get some resources I have long wanted in the upgrade, such as ICC. He practically let me make up my own upgrade. He had to stop a few times to get permission to make the deals, and tell his friends, "You would not believe this old guy on the phone from Mississippi.". He even asked what Greek texts I had been reading. I think to be sure the ICC would be of use to me.

Logos 6 looks like a very exciting tool for ministry.

Yup a lot of us used to be those bright eyed and revved-up 'young' sem. students. Now and I'll speak for myself only, my awkward dirty blond hairdo which consisted of a part on my left side has now turned from sandy blond to more whiteish. Never did the trim thing, but grew a goatee which last a full week.

As far as the new car thing? I don't even have a cell - whose's going to call the milkman at 3 in the morning. But I do like the new features and speaking of running, I'm up to about 4 klics a day. GPS? Take the 's' off and you got my initials and speaking of colour? I'm tanning and getting ready to go to Mexico.

And potholes? Holy cow! I hit more than a few and still carry one or two scars, but that's life.

So I'm waking up early this morning to 'play' with the new features in Logos and I'm sure that somewhere down the line, I'm going to get impatience and grumpy because I won't be able to do all that this new L6 puppy has to offer.

But what a nice car it is! Thanks Logos team for putting up with our grumpiness - we really do love you guys/gals!

You can compare products within a Family on the site but I would like to compare all the Starter packages to see those differences. I would like to compare all Starter packages to the Crossgrade packages.
