So, I have had Logos since version 4, not too terribly long. I bought the Leaders Library. I am not a scholar, preacher or even really a teacher but I wanted to have some good resources etc for my own satisfaction. I do not think there is currently any package comparable to the Leader Library. But is was great.
Then a year and a half later v5 came out, so I gulped and opted to do the minimal crossgrade which cost $173. And now of course, v6 is out. Granted it has been 2 years since I did the crossgrade to v5 but now the minimum cost I can get is $207. And as I understand it lacks many of the new features of v6 so I am unsure why it costs so much.
I have added on a few things to my library over the years and have enjoyed them. But the cost of upgrading just keeps going up. But if I cannot continue to upgrade I know that at some point in the future my "old" logos will not work with Windows 11, MacXX or whatever and I will essentially lose my resources unless I keep some old laptop around with an old OS to run my old Logos. It makes any further purchases of books and resources questionable.
I do appreciate Logos (or whatever they are called now) and I wish them much success but it is getting hard to justify such expensive upgrades. I do appreciate Logos (or whatever they are called now) and I wish them much success but it is getting hard to justify such expensive upgrades. I had thought that they continued their growth and profit through the purchases made from existing users of new books and materials as well as new users. And I know development of new features etc costs money and their is a need to recoup that from the existing user base but it is getting high. If I proceed with this minimal upgrade I will have spend more in upgrades than my original package cost, all within 3 and half years.
All that to say, as a layman it is getting harder and harder to stay with this. At this point I am not sure what I am going to do. Maybe it is just me but I wanted to share.
Thanks
