Indexing quits working, here is the log files:
4401.Logos4Indexer.log
It is a fascinating read! Time to complete was escalating after essentially completing the merge and there is one apparently recoverable error.
I'll have to leave it for a Logos Tech, though.
This is happening on my #2 machine #1 no issues- both beta.
#2 is Vista Home, 500gb HD 7200rpm- 1 4GB ram- worked fine until dwnld beta dwnld- has been doing this since it has tried to index.

Whyndell,
Thanks for the log. The same error had been reported previously, and development is working on a fix for 4.0b. I will add your log and find out if there is a work around.
Melissa
Thank you- have one working system so not completely down.
Issue the command "Rebuild index"
In process, will advise what happens, thanks.
"rebuild index" worked though it tool all day- but success.
It also immediately dwnlld 4.0b Beta 3 without a problem upon finishing, with restart.
Thanks
i use windows xp, i would like to ask how can i issue a command "rebuild index"?
It's not something you want to do without very good reason! Why do you think you need it (is there a problem)?
Logos 4 indexer stopped and needs to be closed. its been like that since i installed it last feb. maybe it didn't finished indexing. hope there is a way to fix the problem? any suggestions? thanks.
every time i open my logos 4 it will show that the logos4 encountered a problem that needs to close. its been like that since i installed it last February. i think it didn't finished its indexing. ive been trying to fix it, but can't. Do you have any suggestions? i'm using windows xp. thanks.
Jayrus,
The first step is capture a crash with diagnostic logging enabled. Instructions are here: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging Then you should upload the logs by attaching them to a forum post. Instructions: http://wiki.logos.com/Uploading_Logs .
However, if this is a problem from February... there's a good chance that you have a corrupt index. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\Data\<random>\LibraryIndex and delete everything in that folder. (The AppData folder is hidden so you will have to enable viewing of hidden files and folders in your Folder Options to navigate to it.) Then try starting Logos, it should start up and start indexing. This is a guess, it might not fix it. the safest route is to upload logs and wait for someone to review them but if you are running 4.0a there is an excellent chance this will fix your problem.
