Loading lg4 on Mac with Parallels

I have the logos 4 upgrade disk. I am using Parallels with Windows XP. When I try and upload lg4 it stops saying I have to first update XP to Service Pack 3. But Service Pack 3 will not update, and I have not been able through Microsoft to come up with either a reason or a fix. Anyone had a similar problem and found a way around it?????

What error message, if any, does Service Pack 3 give you when trying to install it. If it is a matter of the Service Pack not downloading thru Windows, you should be able to download an installer file from Microsoft's website http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsxp/sp3/default.mspx
Hope this Helps,

Can you connect to the internet from Windows? When I first installed Parallels 5, I had the same difficulty which was due to Windows not connecting. If this is your problem, open the VM Configuration Panel and click Hardware, select Network Adapter 1 from the sidebar. I had to mess around with the Type options until I found the one that worked (Built-in Ethernet 2 in my case). HTH
It's Windows; it is supposed to be flakey [:D]

Michael,
Thanks for the info. I followed your advice and go an error message referring to a registry problem. I downloaded a registry fix program which eliminated some of the errors and tried again to upload Service Pack 3. Didn't work so I tried another registry fix program, but still couldn't upload SP3. My LG4 software tells me that I cannot upload it unless I am upgraded to SP3. I am running LG3 now with no problem, and I do not want to do anything to jeopardize it. So I guess I will wait out the development of LG4 for Mac. Not my first choice, but maybe the safest. Again thanks for your help.

Jack,
See my answer to Michael. No problem hooking up to the internet. A friend says I should download SP2, reinstall it and then try to download SP3 again. I am scared to do that, as LG3 is running well and I do not want to lose it.

Since you are using Parallels, you could either copy your Vm and update to SP3 in it, or you could create a complete new VM and proceed from there. When I upgraded to Parallels 5 from Fusion 3, I left L3 on the Fusion VM and created a new VM in Parallels for L4.
