I see great possibilities for this tool, I would love to see more integration within the program itself rather than linking you to your web browser.
I think that is a great idea, and I believe there are plans to do so.
One thing that is in is if you bring up the context menu by right clicking a hyperlink to a group you follow or are a member of, you can choose to navigate to that group within the groups tool. For example if you follow an author group, right clicking on their external link in the ask the author view should give you the option to open to that group in the groups tool. If you're already in the groups tool, clicking on a hyperlink to a group you follow or are a member of, should automatically navigate within the tool too.
I also know we're planning to add links to the document titles that will open documents you are connected to within the app.I think there are other things as well, that I can't recall right now.
