What extras did you buy when you got L6?

There were several great reference works that Logos had special pricing when users upgraded to L5.

All that I see as special with L6 are offers are the bundles. Some who upgraded to L6 have reported getting some good deals on other titles.

The bundles don't interest me, but I would like to know what other titles is Logos offering special pricing on for those who upgrade?

I was offered NICOT/NICNT for just under $1000. This is a great price but not in the budget.

Theoretically, if you have a base package in the cart and click Proceed on the bundle page, you will get to the rest of the deals (which is exactly how it worked for L5 as well).

In practice, the page only shows the full prices, and if your package happens to be Verbum, you don't even get to see the L6 deals, but the old L5 ones.

Are you sure the bundles do not interest you. I found some very good deals among them. The Logos 6 bundles are way better priced than the Logos 5 bundles.

Are there any cheap lexicons being offered or titles by Mounce? Any Anchor Yale Bible Commentary or Eerdmans Critical Commentary individual volumes? Primary texts? Zwingli? Hermeneutics?
EDIT: I see the deals now, Louw-Nida is available. EDIT2: LSJ is available for $99.95 I think I'll have to postpone the purchase though.

That is a great price on that set. About what it was in pre-pub. I already have that.

This is the kind of deals I'm looking for. Ones that won't appear again soon. Don't want to miss those.

I hope so also. I can never completely understand why some corporation would destroy the merchandise rather than to just donate it to someone or some organization that would need and appreciate it.

Those were at Academy Sports (which planned to open immediately after the Royals won Game 7 to sell them). My wife had already decided that she wanted to go get one.

The "World Champions" shirts that I saw yesterday was at a little tent shop setup at a convenience store. They were trying to salvage some of their costs.

The shirts at Academy, etc. will be donated to World Vision and be distributed to needy in other countries. A former pastor said he would see many of those when he went on mission trips to Jamaica.

BTW--The WS ended just in time. It has been very cold in KC since then. Lowest temps in 7 months today.

This release is a total waste of money and energy.

They should have focused on touch functionality and normal usage more.

I agree Josh that it's expensive. If I would afford it my dream upgrade would look like this:

Actually, I was partly wrong. The discounted prices now show when I have an Anglican package in the cart, but they are rather confusing. The page itself shows the full discounted prices, the popups show the dynamic ordinary prices, and only if you add things to the cart do you get to see the dynamic discounted prices.

Furthermore, at least one resource is missing dynamic pricing.

And Verbum is still showing the undiscounted L5 offers. To get the correct ones, you would have to put another package in the cart, add whatever bundles and offers you want, and then add your Verbum package back.

Mark Barnes posted some of the specials on the General thread under "Crazy Deals".

I have summarized the steps that I found to get the best deals on adding on to the upgrade:

If you are considering upgrading to L6, be sure to look at the other specials that are being offered to those who upgrade, WHEN they upgrade.

1. Begin by adding your upgrade choice to your cart.

2. You will be shown a group of topical "bundles" to chose from.

3. The next step is a large group of other reference works at great prices. Many of these are the most popular reference works in Logos at the BEST prices they offer. They are organized topically. Be sure to scroll left or right to see all the titles. I highly recommend IVP 8 vol. Dictionary, Commentary on the NT Use of the OT (Beale), ISBE, AYBD, Most popular commentary sets are included, at great prices. Dynamic pricing is available for most items. This makes it a good time to pickup volumes that have been added to sets that you already have.

4. Your "wish list" (if you've used this feature on your account) is displayed with check boxes for you to add from your wish list. Items on that which are on sale show the reg. and sale price.

5. You can leave those in your cart to think about before you make your final decision.

Lots of options for Logos upgraders.
