Once you 'hide' a resource, is it included/searched in any future searches while still hidden?
mm.
I do not think it is supposed to be. Are you seeing search results for hidden resources?
Not seeing results. Just curious. I didn't think so, but was not 100% sure.
Yes, but Logos hides the results from you. [:(]
No idea but I assume that Logos scans your unhidden resources only, not the ones you have a license for. Those who've hidden the entire Perseus Collection, for example, probably would rather not pay the computational overhead to search 1700+ resources they do not want to see.
Right. I've hid most of the Perseus resources and was wondering if those are searched. I guess they are, but they are hidden from my viewing.

I'm going to say that I don't think the program is aware of them once they are hidden. I have actually unhidden several resources in the last week (after the massive update and moving to Logos 6). Did this in a couple of rounds and each time the resources I have unhidden have updated after I did this.
Blessings,
John
No, for the simple reason that hiding resources removes them from your machine. All that is left is the license.
Right. I've hid most of the Perseus resources and was wondering if those are searched. I guess they are, but they are hidden from my viewing
I meant that first line tongue-in-check. The serious reply was in the second statement.
I believe that hiding them doesn't remove them from the master index unless a manual re-index is performed after hiding them. Which would imply that a re-index after hiding a sizable number of resources would decrease the size of the index on disk.
Hiding a book forces a reindex on the restart - I just tested. Apparently from Bradley's post what I saw had some other source.

It's probably just marking the books as hidden. See Bradley's post here:

oops didn't catch the tongue in CHECK quip? or For a minute there I thought you meant tongue-in-CHEEK -

As I read Bradley's post, when you have just hidden a resource and not had a reindex, the hidden resource is still in your index when you do a search. If you have hidden a resource long enough ago that a reindex has occurred, the resource is no longer in you index when you do a search. Was the OP asking about recent hidden resources or long hidden resources? The answer differs.
Loooooooong hidden resources
The answer is "No" irrespective i.e. hidden resources are not included in search results even if they are still in your Index.
I'm not certain how they are excluded, but they are marked as "hidden" in your Library Catalog and Resource databases. So "All Resources" could be a dynamic collection that excludes hidden resources. But all possible results** are usually pulled from the Index followed by a process of excluding results based on the rest of your search criteria. The final stage is to check the resource for alignment of results, so it doesn't make sense that a hidden resource would get to this stage!
** a search for Jesus WITHIN 2 WORDS Peter could initially look for all occurrences of "Jesus" and "Peter".
If you have hidden a resource long enough ago that a reindex has occurred, the resource is no longer in you index
Indexing for updates/new resources can't cause a reindex (it doesn't affect other resources!). So you have to manually reindex with the rebuild index command to get hidden books out of the index.
Thanks Dave ... I was correct bore Todd (and Bradley) confused me.
