The following are the issues I am seeing with navigating the
new web forums. Perhaps I am missing something, if so, please let me know how
to achieve my navigation nirvana.
1) Shortcuts
“Posts you have not read”
After going clicking on this
button, I am presented with a list of “Not Read Posts”. After I click on a post
to read it in its thread, how do I easily get back to the “Not Read Posts”
list, which should now be updated to remove the one I just read.
Currently I have to:
1) scroll to the
top of the window
2) Click on “Home”,
3) Click on “Posts
you have not read” button again.
The next button at the bottom of a
series of posts does not take you to the next unread post.
2) When
reading a post and you get to the bottom of the page, say for example I am
reading
Home>Suggestions>William
Barclay's Daily Study Bible
I have to scroll to the top of the
page to get back to the navigation url.
It would be nice to have this url
at the bottom of the page so that you could easily get back to the home page,
or the forum you are in without having to scroll to the top of the page you are
viewing.
3) “Recent
Topics” on the home page. This page has a filter, but it does not remember your
setting. I always want the “Unread” filter applied here. Can this be made
permanent.
4) “Recent
Topics” – Can you add the forum as one of the columns.
5) “Recent
Topics” – Can you add a “mark all read” button for each of the rows.
6) When
looking at a single forum, for example “Home->Beta” it would be nice to have
a mark all read button for individual topics, and not the entire forum.
7) On
the home page “Browse the Forums” can it be changes so that only Forums I have
subscribed to are listed.
8) The
Sorting and Filtering settings for an individual forum do not override the
global user setting. The sort order to control ascending/descending order seems
to be controlled only by my global user setting and the individual setting does
nothing.
