BUG: New label added to an existing highlight style does not show up where that style was already us

I added a label to an existing highlight style, but it did not get applied to places where that style was already used. It only gets applied to new places where I use the same style after applying the label.

Even opening the annotation where the old style was applied and selecting "Change note style" did not apply the label for the selected style (new or old style).

I was expecting that when a label is added to an existing style, that label would be active in all places where that style was already used (and through "Change note style").

I don't think it is a bug because you would normally set different values for attributes of that label in different locations. If it were to be applied to all instances of the style users would then have to change the default values in those places!

Hi Dave,

Your right. I didn't think of it that way since I had a fixed value for the attribute. I have a lot of notes that I wanted to update with a label, so I was hoping it would update the existing notes when I added the label to the highlight style. I did learn a search syntax the other day I didn't know about: {Highlight [name of highlight style OR any text to find all highlight styles]}. I tried that and was able to find the notes I wanted to update, so I guess I'm okay with the way it is - I can find the notes this way without the label.

That will do the job for you and you could rename the style to reflect the fixed label attribute(?)
