copyright laws?

Just wondering how free I am to share dictionary articles and such with others? What are the copyright laws on electronic books?
thanks,
Dan

Generally speaking citing from electronic books is the same as citing from paper books. Give proper attribution and you should be fine.
Look here for the full text of the Logos End User License Agreement (EULA). Look especially (though not exclusively) at the "Things you may not do" section.

It sounds like you're talking about fair use - http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html
With some caveats, like how much of a book or article you're reproducing and for what purpose, it is permissible to distribute copyrighted content within certain limits.

Of course, if the content is public domain (copyright expired) then it's very open what you can do with it - although be careful because while parts of a work may be public domain, others might not - for instance any new commentary or translation of the text. KJV would be a good example of this.
