Gospel of Peter

So here I am in ABD looking up Gospel of Peter. There is a hyperlink to it as a reference (Gos. Pet,). I right-click on it, look up what resources it links to under "reference". I get this:

In other words, were I to trust this, it would appear that I have no resource where this reference can point to.

However, I do have these resources:

The problem here is that when I run guides or look up references, I may be led to think that I do not have a text that I do, in fact, have. That's a problem. I need to know that I can trust reports and cross-referencing.

That's not a hyperlink to the gospel, it's a popup that tells you what the abbreviation stands for.

Logos never hyperlinks to entire 'books' of Bibles or Apocyrphal/Pseudepigraphal literature. It would probably be quite annoying if everytime you saw "Revelation", it linked to the book. It would be annoying when searching for references to Revelation, and when building Passage Lists and so on.

If you scroll down to the section headed "Contents and Storyline", you'll see several specific references to the Gospel, which do in fact work.

"Reference" refers (I think) to the Factbook reference (or more specifically in this case to the Topic datatype) — although if I'm right about that it's not working properly. But whatever it is, you'll see it on the right-click menu when you right-click anywhere in the article, not just on the pop-up.

In other words the reference refers to the article, not the pop-up. That wasn't clear in this case because the pop-up text and article name were the same. But if you click on any other pop-up (say the 'N' for north later in that paragraph) you'll see it still says "Gospel of Peter" - because it's referring to the article, not just that 'N'.

Mainly prophecy and glossolalia in the NT. More generally, the New Covenant.

Beyond Mark's splendid explanation, maybe this screenshot helps - it's from the LBD entry on Gospel of Peter:

You'll find that it doesn't refer to "Peter, Gospel of" but to "Apocryphal Gospels", which is the Headword (GosP is a sub-entry therein). Currently it's Logos' design to not link resources, but only text within resources. The point is when you go to a real reference, where the rubber meets the road.

LBD:

whereas BDAG, which has 275 hits for "Gospel of Peter", simply is not linked to it. [:(]

But there, GPt is linked to its explanation "Gospel of Peter", but the verse links aren't blue.

A blue link to a verse (or page...) in a resource which on mouse-over doesn't show the referenced text in the tooltip, that is the indication that I don't own it.
