How do I? What would you recommend?

My office system crashed on me last week so I've purchased a new computer: HP Quad-core, 64-bit, 1TB HDD, 8G RAM.

So now, on to the reinstall of all my bible software... My plan is to reinstall L3 first, run all the update scripts synch my license and then download L4 and reinstall it. That's the general plan.

To those of you who have done this before, any suggestions as I do this? Any "land mines" I need to be aware of? Any and all comments will be appreciated....

    James,

My HD died recently and I had to go through the same exercise...  I did just what you described, and it worked well... with one caveat.  If you are switching to Windows 7, you should know that there are a couple of processes that do not always terminate when you close Logos 3.  If you do not use Task Manager to ensure that these processes have closed (it is irregular...  sometimes both will close, sometimes one will, others neither), it can interfere with the update function.  So, whenever you close Logos 3, use the task manager to ensure that all Libronix processes have ended.  I believe they are named LibSys.something.

Thanks Michael! I didn't know that about L3 and Windows 7. I have Windows 7 on my home system and hadn't notice any processes hanging so I started L3 and then closed it and noticed LibSys.exe still running. Anybody know what the other process is? More importantly should I care? Stratch that, I guess it is important since it may interfere with the update function. I'm assuming that's the update function for L4 right? Is Logos working on this? Anybody know?

I don't know whether it interferes with the L4 update function, but it does interfere with the L3 update function.  And yes, Logos is working on the problem...

In order not to miss any OR in order NOT to get the "wrong" one(s) by mistake, REBOOT when re-installing,. (often).

Windows will thank you (in that it will "play" much nicer with the other kids in the sandbox)

All the best on your "re-install" journey!

    Regards

    Steve

Yes, I'm afraid that you will have to send it to Bob.

I couldn't afford the fees to import it across the border. [:)]

Bye the way, VERY nice computer. [I'm not jealous, honest! [:@]]

I hope your Bible Study truly "zoom-zooms."
